September brought wedding bells to Little Chumstick Valley. Asked to bartend the event, I donned my best vest and bow tie. How could I refuse such an honor?

Held on the bride and groom's ranch just north of the freakishly Bavarian village of Leavenworth, Washington, the grounds never looked so good or more festive. Called The Lazy 'S' Ranch, the groom erected a chapel in the wake of a forest fire that miraculously changed course just short of overrunning the homestead. Fittingly, it was on that chapels steps the couple tied the knot.

The big event was held over the Labor Day holiday with volleyball, swimming, carriage rides and three squares daily to fill our time.

Reverend Kent presided over the nuptials (his first), and The Greg Marshall Band rocked the reception with their unique style of swing into the wee morning hours. There was talk about booking other weddings at the ranch. When that happens, I know just the bartender for it.
