The 2004-2005 skiing season sucked in the Pacific Northwest. It seems due to El Nino, or El Nina, or El Too-many-people-burning-fossil-fuels, or whatever, Southern California got all the weather that usually heaps gobs of snow on our mountains. That said, we got lucky.

The first week of January brought good snow to the hills, and with it, great skiing. Although the base wasn't much, the snow was dry and plentiful at Crystal Mountain.

To celebrate a twenty-something wedding anniversary, I, along with a few friends and family, checked into the Silver Skis Inn on Thursday morning, and by the following Saturday night the mountain had accumulated over two feet of heavenly powder.

We knew our timing was good, but not until the next week when ski areas were falling over themselves to close due to warm temperatures, did we realize how good. Dave and Vicky, you picked a great date to get married, a fantastic (per usual) mountain to celebrate it on, and people to celebrate it with. Gracias!
