Vacation

This may be the last entry for a while. Wilson and I are leaving for a road trip tomorrow. Hopefully we'll end up in CaliforniaPalm Tree. And back home again.

I'll post updates from the road as I can, otherwise, I'll see you in MN in early August.

Heat Wave

Man, it's hot in Denver. It hit 100 today. I was almost glad to work to have some relief from the sun. My mom and sister showed up today unexpectedly from their "Surrealism Tour". So that was a nice surprise. They're gonna come back to Denver to go to Waterworld in a few days.

(Speaking of surprise a gnat just flew up my nose).

Work was nothing new. Except that I was in the fitting room. Blah. Wilson came by and chatted with me for a while. And he found his anniversary ring that he wanted. :)

We didn't want to go home after I got off, so we decided to go bowling. It was really fun. I'm started to bowl left-handed, but I'm about equally bad with either :(. I still haven't broken 100 yet, perhaps I'm cursed.

Wilson and I stopped at King Soopers on the way back to resolve our midnight munchies. Mmmmmm grapes and Muenster cheese. (Not together of course, but late night cravings are the best.)

So since my last blog I:

  • Watched fireworks at T.J.'s
  • Drove down to Wheat Ridge for no apparent reason except to by Asiago bagels and Jalapeno cream cheese (my compliments Dan, it was delicious)and a banana
  • Watched King Arthur
  • Locked my keys in the car and had to wait an hour in the cold night air for it to be opened.
  • Stayed up all night to go fishing an hour away, catch nothing, read a book and drive home.
  • Worked 11 hours in one days.
  • Worked a whole bunch
  • Read Joust
  • Finished Storm Costantine
  • Read the 2nd and 3rd Evangelion
  • Went to Waterworld with TJ and Brooke and of course Wilson :)
  • Helped Wilson do newspapers
  • Polished off 2 more bags of Lay's Jalapeno chips, mmmmmmmmmm
  • Started , I have yet to gain interest in the story.
  • Watched a movie about the origin of dogs
  • Watched Analyze That and realized afterward that it was the 2nd movie not the first.

All right, I think that's it.

Sorry!

Life in Colorado's been pretty busy.

I went white-water rafting (for free!) with Wilson, Matt and Mandy. It was really fun. Though I did get my legs all burnt up. The most excitement we had was a solid Class III rapids. That was fun.

I had to call into work that day becuase I wouldn't have made it back from Buena Vista in time.

The night before Wilson took me out on a date. We went to eat at P.F. Changs (mmmm, Great Wall of Chocolate!!!) and then went to go see Spiderman. The 10:50 showing was really packed out. It was fun to see though.

I had Friday off. It was really hot, so I mostly just read. Wilson and I had an argument, but we resolved it later. I read this morning while Wilson was at work. I finally finished the Storm Constantine series, with which I was impressed. Once he got home he and I went with his mom to King Soopers and Wal-mart. She was all puzzled cuz I was having one of my laughing-at-nothing-for-no-apparent-reason fits.

At work I had pretty easy zones. But it still took us until 11:30 to finish for whatever reason. (Namely the greater of many evils was closing tonight). I finished writing Katie a story at lunch. And I took my break with Ian, which is always fun. We had fun zoning frozen too. I don't see why people hate it so much, it feels so nice now that it's summer.

Tomorrow (or today) I have to work in the morning. But I'll be getting time and a half, PLUS I get to see the fireworks, so that's not bad in my estimation.

Life in Colorado's been pretty busy.

Let's see, since my last blog I've:

  • Drove back to CO
  • Dropped Camille off at Collette's
  • Worked a bunch
  • Read like crazy
  • Went up to Evergreen to visit Matt's new house
  • Bought a tent
  • Tented in Matt's basement (very uncomfortable)
  • Saw Shrek 2 with Mitch and Ian
  • Went to a party at Sarah's
  • Went to the Target BBQ
  • Watched Cold Mountain
  • Went to Waterworld

I think that's it thus far.

There's No Place Like Home

House Wilson and I made it safely back without any outstanding incidents. You could really smell the cows all throughout Nebraska, but it wasn't too bad. We didn't get to leave until like four in the afternoon cuz that's when they finally finished my car.

So we got in around six a.m. I sent Wilson to get some sleep. I decided just to stay up, since when I went to get blankets Chantel was AlReAdy awake! So I drank some coffee Coffee and we woke Rachel up

Later that day we decided to go canoeing Sailor, so we hooked it up on the Lincoln and then decided to see if Liz would want to go too. A few complicated plans later we were on our way. It was a beautiful day to go. White Water Rafting So we paddled from lake to lake, while Matthew chattered the whole way.

Yesterday we went to the Mall of America and Wilson found a sword. I persuaded the little girls to come if I gave them five dollars to spend.

Tonight is the Fire Station Open House, which my mom has had to plan for the last two months. She assigned Wilson to be Sparky the Firedog, so that should be interesting. ;-)

Homeward Bound

All right, no updates for a while, but if all goes well tomorrow Wilson and I should be on our way home Family Road Trip to the land of ice and snow. As my mechanic said. For my car to be done today (Friday) would happen only "if the repair gods were with us." Apparently they weren't. Siiiiigh.

Otherwise I've been watching movies with Wilson, working, and worrying about my car. And I've been busily planning the feast.

Nicole's out here in CO. So we got together with her yesterday on my day off. We went to a couple malls. We played Nintendo ping pong. The only kind I'm good at apparently. And I tried out that dance game too. We also went to eat at Red Robin. Then we walked around Mills for a while until our movie started: Kill Bill 2. It was uber good. Sharing Popcorn

Wilson and I finished Evangelion: Death and Rebirth that night.

I worked tonight. We had two new people and we were short in softlines, but we still got out and 10:30. Yay!

Anyway, I'm going to peace out for now, since I gotta get up uber early tomorrow. But first, some random fun for me!

Before I get too far behind, I'll try and catch up on some events.

Ian (or rather Ian's mom) gave me a ride home tonight. Wilson was attending a graduation up in Boulder. Siiiiiigh. But it was rather fun tonight. They've been sticking me in Ready-to-Wear lately. And Jewelry to boot. Finnally someone's realized how capable I am of getting that done. Sigh. And I am. I finish every night right at ten. While somehow our team lead can't manage to finish Infants and Lingerie. Sigh. Sigh. Sigh.

I've been packing everything up. Almost everthing is at Wilson's house now.

My car is at Aspen Auto. They have yet to call me back with an estimate. So I'm going to call them tomorrow after work.

Anna's wedding swiftly approaches. I can only hope that I can switch work hours with someone and attend it.

Wilson and Matt rented out the theater on Tuesday. We watched the LOR ROTK. It was awesome. And they had a popcorn machine.

Otherwise all I've been up to is crossword puzzles and reading. I've been putting sun-in in my hair, so it's turning blondish.. slowly. Wilson has too. It's now a reddish brown tint of black.

And it's now the 27th. Wilson and my one-year anniversary... If you don't count that month we were broken up.

Long Week
Reach down your hand in your pocket
Pull out your hope for me
It?s been a long day, always
Ain?t that right

Yeah, Matchbox 20.

Anyway it's been a super long week or at least it seems like it. sighs in relief I've been working soooo much. At least that's the way it seems. And they switched me to working mostly mornings. I was late on Friday cuz I thought that I worked til close.

Sleeping
I missed the fateful end of Survivor. But it's okay cuz I just catch up online. And I saw part of it at work during my break. I couldn't believe that anyone voted for Rob as their "favorite survivor."

Survivor
I've been packing up stuff and reading a lot. Wilson and I have watched some crazy movies! Ghost World was by far the weirdest followed by Identity. We watched the music video for Ghost World before we watched the movie. It was weird 60's Indian music, and the dude looked like
Entertainer
this. So we were like what ARE we getting into?!?

Check out scenes

Anyway, I've gotta get some stuff done. Yay days off!

Carz

Yesterday I had fun working. I met Ian, who was doing Boys and Shoes for some strange reason. Anyway, he was trying to figure out if I knew any of his favorite bands. Which I didn't. Wilson later told me they were hard rock. Or something.

Anyway, on the way out he was like, well, since you don't know any of the bands I like I think I'll have to take you to a concert. pause pause Huh?

Today I went to a authentic Chinese restaurant with Wilson and his mom for dim sum. I thought a few of the things were good. The other things might grow on me. But the little octopi? Not a fan. But Wilson didn't make me eat one of those thank goodness. Yay!

Then I got my car towed. It was fun. . . That's about all I have to say about that.

Love, Gretel
