Shattered Dreams
Broken light bulb;
Shattered
dreams;
Lives we once knew;
Morals
we once held;
Problems we never saw;
Problems bursting at the seams.
Broken light bulb,
Whose
dream were you?
What peace did you hold?
Did
you know what would come?
Did you suspect?
Did you care?
Were you prepared?
We
weren’t.
Broken light bulb,
Were
you replaced?
We
were.

This was another
poem I sent in to Poetry.com to be published. It isn’t on the site yet, but the last time it
took a while. Keep an eye out!
