  • With fewer than 3 million men the American colonies managed to defeat the greatest military to man  known during that time period.  Each side suffered losses, but through those losses we, as a nation, got our independence.  To live freely and prosperous, every man (and later on women) equal, is what are country is based on.

  • In 1975 a shot rang out, later on it was told that  the shot was heard around the world for it signified the start of the American Revolutionary War.
  • The War of Independence as it is called lasted for eight long years between the British Government and the North American colonies.  Many American heroes rose from that war such as George Washington who became the first president of the United States and Thomas Jefferson who wrote the majority of The Declaration of Independence among others.  Since the French and Indian War relationships between the British and the colonies were rocky.  The British believed that the colonies were inferior to them, their arrogance and behavior insulting to the colonies.
