  THIRD DAY

We were ready to break through these walls and out of the chains that we have wrapped around our legs so long ago. Myrtle Beach was a place of beauty where we worshiped, laughed, weeped, talked, and most of all, we loved each other. Through the tears of our letters to God, we asked why He let His Son die such a painful death on the cross, we were smiling, knowing that we were saved. Because of Him we aren’t simply robots that would love, worship, and serve Him, but human beings with choices to show our love to God. The symbolism of nailing our letters to the cross for God was so powerful that people wept and collapsed to their knees. They remembered the mistakes they have foolishly made in their past, knowing that He died on the cross to forgive them of their sins. There was also the symbolism of the rocks; written on them the baggage they have carried this far, so long. Baggage that we have kept aside, not even knowing that the extra weight was there. The baggage began to get heavy, and Satan was attacking. Feels like we were carrying a cross of our own and we were getting tired. Physically, Emotionally, and SPIRITUALLY exhausted. We began to crawl along the road, no longer standing on our feet. Some people had one rock, others had four or five…however many, they knew what they had to do with them. We drove down to the beach in the rain and got out and threw our rocks into the ocean, letting go of our baggage. Some of us stayed out in the rain and even kneeled down in the wet sand on our face before Him. And if we saw one of our rocks returned onto the beach, we picked it back up and threw it even further out into the ocean. We didn’t want them back, because we were on our way to Him. Myrtle Beach was a place where we could encourage each other. It was great to receive the encouragement cards, but even greater writing them for others! Some just said hi and was simple…and others were our expressions of the love we had for each other. Letting them know how much they meant to us…telling them that we cared. Myrtle Beach was also a place where we spent time with God each and every day. We spent forty minutes in the morning getting to know God on an intimate level. Getting into His word and learning about Him. We would have time to spend on the beach and later at night we had a lesson. The lessons were truly messages from God as each one of us was convicted of something that needed to be given over to God. Some people came knowing what to expect, others came not having a clue as to what was about to happen, like me. But I guarantee that God was moving and something so WONDERFUL, so POWERFUL, and so INCREDIBLY AWESOME had happened in the days that we were at Myrtle Beach. We were on top of the mountain…and we MUST stay there! God is everywhere; at Frontline, small groups, church, home, school, down in the valleys where it seems there is no way out. Don’t let go of the grasp that you had on Him! There will be a day where we will truly be HOME and we will be able to relax for eternity. Too many times we are on the mountain top and a week, month, or a year later we are back to our old ways. We are on our way to Him, and we must continue on our Journey. Don’t ever give up on God. He is our ticket home. Remember that for those who are believers in Him, and on their way to Him, this is the closest to Hell they will ever get. And for those that die rejecting God’s Son, this is the closest to Heaven they will ever get. We must stay On Our Way To Him! --Rosie Berryhill
