Samos - The village of Neochorio on Samos in Greece

Neochorio is a small and quiet traditional mountain village a little east of Koumeika and northeast of the fishing village of Balos. It is situated in the green hills and you can see the white / blue striped dome of the church from a distance. Some people may pass it on the way to the beaches of Pefkos or Perri that lie south of the village. There is not much going on in this village and there are no accommodations. The streets are narrow and steep and most of the houses are old or falling apart. Most of the inhabitants are also older people. The village church was closed when we got there and it has the remains of an old column in front of it. Behind the church there is a small square. From the large parking in front of Neochorio there is a nice view over the coastline of Samos towards Votsalakia.
