I'm too old to be writing frivolous stories on the net anymore. Henceforth, all my stories will be no-nonsense accounts of serious happenings in everyday instances.
1-10-06
Yesterday, I woke up after having slept prior to being awake. During the awake hours of the day I went about my business in the usual fashion. That is to say, I took part in the normal human routines such as eating and defecating (not simultaneously). No events of any significance took place. Upon completion of the day, I returned to my sleeping quarters and purposefully rendered myself unconscious in a state of dormancy.

Last week on Batman - The Joker had the Dynamic Duo hovering over a vat of gelatinous goo. Just as their fates were about to be sealed...RdDragon turned off the TV!
RdDragon: Would you dummies please stop messing around? We need to figure out what to do.
Interceptor: Hey! We were watching that Batman Marathon for over a year and you turned it off at the climax!
RdDragon: What are you talking about? You just turned the TV on 5 minutes ago.
Interceptor: Well, it sure felt like a year since anything happened around here.
NinjaMaster: I am Batman.
RdDragon: Speaking or morons, where did Scum get to?
Interceptor: Scum! WHERE ARE YOU?
Scum: Rover rhere!
*they spot Scum running away from a bank robber wearing a ghost costume*
RdDragon: *sigh* This is starting to make less and less sense.
NinjaMaster: I am Batman.
*after several minutes of being chased down a never ending hallway Scum manages to lose the ghost and walks back towards the group*
Scum: Hey gang, I solved our mystery. RdDragon was trying to scare away all the tourists so he could steal all the apples for himself. Fortunately, I'm always one step ahead of his sinister plots. So I ran away from that ghost. I ran away from it good. That'll teach RdDragon a lesson or two.
RdDragon: oK, I'm gonna pretend you guys haven't said anything and we are gonna make our way back to the Crypt to report our current situation.
Meanwhile, at the Crypt a large group of Secret Board Hunters have gathered.
SBP: Has everyone checked in after that flashy-earthquakey thing that broke the log out server?
Medea: All but 5. FBI Porker was attacked by an unknown source while on an undercover mission. He is currently Suspended. RdDragon, Scum, Interceptor, and NinjaMaster's whereabouts are unknown.
SBP: Those guys aren't important anyway. Let's start the meeting without them.
*Those guys burst into the office and Interceptor slams some documents on the table in a demanding style*
SBP: What the hell is that?
Interceptor: That's a printout of a receipt for some scented candles I bought online. I was just tired of lugging it around.
SBP: ok.... Down to business.
*boring talk about boring stuff ensues*
SBP: And that's the current situation.
RdDragon: Fascinating.
SBP: I know.
Interceptor: Well, what are our orders, chief?

Ok, I finally updated. Sort of. I didn't advance the plot (plot lol) or do much of anything else. I have doubts about the humor and it would seem I switched to the whole character-followed-by-his-lines format thing. But it at least resembled an update!

RdDragon: Alright, you heard the man. Let's just go.
Scum: That's right, men. Follow me! I know just where to look first!
*Scums starts marching forward while RdDragon, Interceptor, and NinjaMaster take off towards the Atari section which just so happens to be in the opposite direction*
Interceptor: I'm sure it's not important, but do you suppose we should have told SBP about that virus thingy we ran into at the Commodore 64?
RdDragon: Bah, I knew we forgot something.
NinjaMaster: Speaking of something, didn't we used to have a Scum in our trio?
RdDragon: Your counting abilities aside, yes; Scum went the wrong way and I didn't really feel like bothering to chase him down.
NinjaMaster: Is that really the proper use of a semicolon?
RdDragon: Nevermind that, let's just make this trip a one of the no-talking variety until we reach our destination.
NinjaMaster: I was just curious because you never really see semicolons...
RdDragon: *sigh*
While RdDragon and NinjaMaster discuss exciting things like grammar and sentence structure, elsewhere Scum has a few problems to deal with.
Scum: It seems everyone but me is lost.
Scum: Yeah, I told them to follow me but apparently they were so busy being in awe of my leadership capabilities that they misheard the order.
Scum: And now it would appear that I'm talking to myself.
Scum: That's true, but appearances can be deceiving.
Scum: Yeah, they can be. Just not in this particular case.
*before Scum has a chance to get into a real discussion with himself he is attacked by someone in a dark hooded cloak*
Mysterious Cloak Guy: Your time has come to an end!
Scum: I'm sorry, I don't have a watch but if you'll stop trying to kill me I'm sure we can work something out.
Mysterious Cloak Guy: You were foolish to stray from your friends. You are no match for me in one-on-one combat.
*the mysterious assailant draws his blade and points it towards Scum in a challenging manner*
Scum: That's a nice spoon you have there.
Mysterious Cloak Guy: It's not a spoon. It's a sword!
Scum: You can't fool me. I know a spoon when I see one. This on the other hand IS a sword!
*Scum pulls out his gun and starts shooting it in the general direction of the guy in the cloak*
*most of the shots are completely off target and of no threat, however the ones that actually come close to hitting the cloaked figure are nimbly dodged*
Scum: *panting* I see you have played swordy-spoony before...
Mysterious Cloak Guy: Enough games. Now I finish this.
*just as the cloaked guy approaches Scum there is a loud explosion nearby*
*the cloaked stranger hesitates and then turns in the direction of the sound and runs off*
Scum: And don't come back or you'll get more of the same!
Scum: Well Scum, it looks like we took care of our quota of bad guys for one day.
Scum: Now I'm starting to get worried about the guys. They are probably hopelessly hopeless without me.
*Scum realizes that the others probably went the wrong way from the start of the journey and heads back to the Crypt to see if he can track them down* |

Having walked a long way in silence RdDragon, NinjaMaster, and Interceptor were nearing their destination and RdDragon still had his sanity intact
Interceptor: Things sure are quiet.
NinjaMaster: Quite. *bursts into laughter*
NinjaMaster: Did you guys see my clever use of wordplay?
RdDragon: Oh brother, I knew the silence was too good to last. No matter, we are almost there.
Interceptor: Where exactly is there anyway?
RdDragon: Just a little sector in the Atari 2600 I like to call home. I have an old buddy there who might have some info on the current situation.
NinjaMaster: Interesting.
Interceptor: Slightly...
NinjaMaster: Rightly...
RdDragon: oK, we are here. This is my home board, Sector Alpha. You guys can hang out in the bar while I have a chat with my old pal.
*NinjaMaster and Interceptor head to the bar while RdDragon walks over to a dark alley where a man stands in the shadows*
RdDragon: Hey, TRC.
TRC: WierdOH, what brings you here?
RdDragon: Uh, this is my board.
TRC: Er, I know that. I was just making conversation.
RdDragon: I was wondering if you have any info on what's happening around here. No one seems to be able to log-out after that strange occurrence earlier.
TRC: Well, no one on the underground channels knows anything about the log-out bug. It's a complete mystery. However, word on the street is that some strange characters were up to something unusual at Mircovision right about the time all that weird light flashing **** started happening.
RdDragon: Hmm, well that's as good a place as any to start investigating. Microvision is a small system. Shouldn't be too hard to search it.
TRC: Good luck.
RdDragon: Thanks. And by the way, stop skulking around in the shadows so much. It's kind of creepy.
TRC: >_>
*RdDragon makes his way to the bar to pick up his two associates*
NinjaMaster: *hic* So I told the guy, I don't care how many chickens you got, I ain't selling my ninja outfit. *hic*
RdDragon: What the hell? I only left you guys for 5 minutes and Ninja is drunk...
Interceptor: He isn't drunk. So far he has only had a glass of water.
RdDragon: Well, I got a tip from TRC and we are gonna check out Microvision.
Interceptor: TRC, aye? Isn't he currently on GameFAQs Most Wanted list?
RdDragon: He is a pal of mine and he has been staying out of trouble lately....sorta. Anyway, he knows things and I'm sure his information is reliable.
Interceptor: Good enough for me. We three are off on another whirlwind adventure!
The three would-be adventurers are preparing to leave just as the door to the bar swings open with great force. A mysterious man in a dark hooded cloak steps into the bar and everything goes quite. Oops, I mean everything goes quiet. |

Oh deer, that was hilarious. If you could churn these things out even every month it would be a lot less quite around here. Now I remember why I admire you older hunters so much. There's just something about the way you guys can make me laugh that I've never been able to emulate. I particularly liked the swordy-spoony scene. That part woke up my roommates! It was like having Scum back..
