This month's movie is the wonderfully done Disney movie, The Pirates of the Caribbean. As of Sunday, July 13, I have seen the movie 3 times (Wednesday the 9th, Saturday the 12th, and Sunday the 13th). It is one of the best movies I've seen. And now you can learn all about it too.

Summary
On the crossing from England to Port Royal in the Caribbean, a British ship carrying the soon-to-be governor of Port Royal (Pryce), his daughter Elizabeth (Knightley), and Captain Norrington (Davenport) of the British Fleet in the Caribbean find a boy floating in the water off the wreckage of a pirate-attacked ship. Elizabeth finds a pirate medallion around the boys neck, and for his own protection, takes it and hides it. Eight years later those same pirates led by Captain Barbossa (Rush) show up to Port Royal looking for the medallion, and kidnapp Elizabeth. Will Turner (Bloom), the boy Elizabeth rescued as a child, learns of her capture, and after springing the infamous pirate Jack Sparrow (Depp) from jail, he sets out to find the pirate ship The Black Pearl and rescue the girl he secretly loves "but [is] otherwise incapable of wooing said strumpet." The two "commandeer" the HMS Interceptor, find a crew in the town of Tortuga (which is Spanish for Turtle), and follow the pirates to "the island that no one can find except for those that already know where it is," the Isla de la Muerta (Spanish for the "Island of the Dead"). Elizabeth discovers that the pirates are cursed to be neither living nor dead, and whose true form as living skeletons is revealed in the moonlight. She and Will soon realize that the pirates not only need the medallion to lift the curse, but also Will's blood. With the help of Jack and the HMS Dauntless, the curse is lifted just in time for the British to capture the pirates, and for Jack to kill Barbossa. And they all live happily ever after (if you want to know the ending, go see the movie).

Here are the words to the "The Pirates of the Caribbean" song, "Yo Ho, Yo Ho, A Pirates Life for Me."
