May 15, 2000 Breakout is a year-long project that 9th grade students at Skyview Junior High have the task of completing. This project starts in September and ends on May 16, where family, friends, and the rest of the grades in the school are asked to come and view hundreds of displays that students have set up to give information on their topic. In the beginning of September students are asked to pick a topic to do breakout on. Although being better if the topic if controversial, you may also choose a topic that is not. Projects in breakout include 2 turn-ins where well over 40 pages of notes each are expected. Another significant turn-in is making a difference where students must ponder a way to make a difference in their topic, which can be accomplished by several ways including building a web page, fundraising, making a pamphlet, or even volunteering. Overall breakout is a fun project that students get to do, unless you picked a subject you are not interested in and stuck with it all the way into may. Here's some of My friends and the rest of Skyview's Breakout WebPages. Steve's page. A great and fun site on Violence in Video games. Has some interesting information on the recent and old video games. Jackie's Site. A cool site on Bass Guitars. Full of plentiful information on the history and evolution of Bass guitars. A complete list of Skyview's Webpages. A full list of sites including some topics like skiing, helicopters, fashion, police brutality and the history of pro wrestling. _________________________________________________________________________
