The International Game Developers Association (IGDA) recently announced the winners of the coveted Game Developers Choice Awards. The nominees for the Choice Awards are selected by members of the games industry themselves - experts looking at each others work and selecting the best - so the games put forward are of the highest quality.
Of course we wouldn't be writing this piece if it wasn't related to Metroid Prime, so here's the news you want to hear - the big winner was Metroid Prime, created by Retro Studios. The game was awarded the Game of the Year award, while Retro also won the Rookie Studio of the Year award, given to outstanding comapanies who have released their first major title during the year. A remarkable achievement
But there was more to come - the Metroid Team were the clear winners in the category of Excellence in Level Design for their work in Metroid Prime.
