Cher's 272nd Concert

Cher performed live tonight here at the arena in Sioux Falls, SD. This was concert #272 of her Goodbye/Never Can Say Goodbye Tour. The Village People were her opening act. I only think a couple of them were in the original cast. I don't even remember the army guy, but then I was only 8 when I saw them after school on TV on the Dina Shore Show. They were a little up in age and the choreography got a little repetative. I lost count how many times they tried to grind with a microphone stand. None the less, they had everyone up out of their seats doing the YMCA for their final song. Cher was outstanding. The newspaper said she had performed 17 songs/costume changes. I thought the best part was when she talked directly to the crowd at the beginning of her show. She turned the spot-light a girl because earlier the girl was hiding her face because her dad was caught on the big screen TV dancing to disco music. She told the girl that it was okay and not to be ashamed of him, because he is from the 60s and that's just how they did it back then.

Every year on the first Sunday of October a group of demonstrators stand on 41st Street - the entire length of 41st Street. This year, I went to Arby's to grab lunch while working at Barnes and Noble. I asked if I could take their picture and they said "Sure." I was walking home from the ER about a week after my tonsils were removed. (I thought I was bleeding a bit much that morning, it was thick and dark red and pooring out of me, so I kinda freaked a little bit.) After I stopped bleeding, I was walking home and on the corner of 18th and Cleveland I took this picture. I don't know how long the pole has been there or how many garage sales it has advertised, but I am very positive that this pole has gotten nailed many more times than mine ever has or ever will.

I haven't seen Days of Our Lives for over 2 weeks because of the Olympics. I must say the Olympics were great to watch this year, especially the overlaid images of the Trampoline event - mesmorizing. However, I have this weeks episodes taped and ready to watch. Rumor has it, and I did see a sneak peak...that Belle once again has been replaced. Hopefully the new one will do better than the last.

Was browsing the web and I came accross a great website. When you view the satellite images of earth, you can then click on the images and rotate the view of the earth. It's incredible. It's also incredible how many satellites we have roaming above us. My friend Randy works at EROS. They have a variety of up-close images from around the world - available for purchase.

This Early Bird got up at 7am on Saturday July 17th to grab a couple Kid Rock tickets...To my astonishment - about 65 other people were already in line. There are no lines at Ticketmaster.
