PRIMEVAL (PART 2)

Buffy goes to the ruins of Sunnydale High to look for Riley to help her against Adam, now that the Scooby Gang has split up. Of course he is not there
Riley is in Adam's caves. Adam tells Riley that he has activated the chip in his system and that now Riley is under the complete control of Adam...

OPENING CREDITS

Adam tells Riley that both Humans and Demons are imperfect, but together they can be. Adam tells Spike that he needs Buffy at the fight to ensure Demons are killed at the same rate as the humans. Spike notices a problem with this though, the disks that Buffy needs to get in their are in Willow's hands and none of the Scoobies are talking.
It is noon and Xander is still in bed. Anya comes down to him and tells him to get ready to go to the job center. He says no, they never have anything good. He is depressed because of what Willow and Buffy "Said" about him, but what is worse is he knows they are right, he is useless. Anya tells him that it doesnt matter to her, he is a good person and a good Boy Friend and she loves him.
Buffy goes to the caves to find Adam but he is not there. Adam has taken Riley to the Initiative Secret lab where he shows him Maggie Walsh, Dr Angleman and the new re-animated Forrest. On her way out of the caves Buffy runs into Spike, he tells her that she can't stop just because she had an arguement with her friends. Buffy knew that Spike has something to do with it, as no-one outside that room knew what had happened.
The re-animated Forrest tells Riley that he is happy with what has happened to him, and when he comes up against Buffy he will kill her.
The four of them meet up after Buffy phones them all. Buffy tells the others that it was Spike who played them against each other. They all feel silly and say that they will move on. She also tells them that Spike is working for Adam, at which point Willow tells them that the disk's have been de-crypted and she know's where the secret lab is. Giles figures out that Adam is playing the Trojan Horse on the Iniative and thats why the Demons have been easy to catch.
At Giles house they figure out that they can cast a spell on Buffy that will help protect her so she can kill Adam.
As Buffy and the gang break into the Iniative via the Lift Shaft, Buffy and Willow have a heart to heart and they open up and say that the whole gang has drifted apart. In a very touching scene the whole gang admit they love each other and get the group back together. As they are about to enter the Iniative, the soliders capture them.
As Adam sees that the Scooby Gang has made it, he see's Spike has failed him yet again. He orders Forrest to kill Spike. He manages to get away though when he puts his cigarette onto his eye-ball.
Buffy tells the Iniative leader that they need to get out before it's too late. As she is trying to explain though the power goes down and the Demon cages open. As the troops go to recapture the HST's Willow looks to find the exact location of the lab. She finds it but to get there they have to cross the Battlefield. With Buffy covering them they make it across. They go to room 314 where, Giles, Willow and Xander set up the spell.
As Buffy goes on alone she runs into Riley who is under the complete control of Adam. Adam then orders Forrest to kill Buffy. As the two battle Riley uses all his will to move his hand and grab a piece of broken glass, to cut open his upper chest.
Asthe others begin the spell they join Willow's Spirit, Xanders Heart and Giles Mind to become one they send the power to the Hand, "Buffy."
As Forrest is about to kill Buffy Riley removes the chip and carries on Buffy's fight while Buffy goes after Adam. As Riley and Forrest fight a power cable gets knocked, seeing this Riley throws a gas canister at Forrest as Forrest goes to throw it back there is a spark and he explodes.
Buffy and Adam fight, she is losing badly until the others complete the spell. As Buffy gets this new power not even Adam's mini-gunarm can hurt her. She continues to battle with Adam and as she is too powerful for her she sinks her hand into his chest and pulls out his power source. With that the spell ends. As Giles and Co are about to be attacked Spike saves them in return for his life.
At the end of the episode the governmet tells that the project will be shut down, the Iniative burned and filled in and to salt the earth...


Not a patch on the First part but still a very good episode. Sadly the last 10 minutes really let it down and the final Adam scene is very poor and too OTT. I know Joss likes the Matrix but come on! I did however like the idea that for once Buffy could not do something alone. I hated a moment in Becoming Part 2, when Angel is about to kill her and she stops the sword between her hands, What was that about??? Anyway a good episode but because the ending of this episode is so poor it does make it the weakest Buffy Two Parter to date...
