In the early 1950s Universal Studios attempted to repeat the success thay had enjoyed in the 30s with a whole new series of monster movies. Unfortunately they weren't willing to pay for really first rate productions.
Although many of these films met with ridicule due to their obviously amatuerish quality I have to admit that I rather liked "THE CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON". It must have been the wonderfully developed characters or possibly the great underwater cinematography.......
