Talon and Kerina - The Beginning

Back to the Intro for Talon and Kerina

Cliffs of Treve - Sunrise - Hidden Clearing Treve - Winter in Treve - Kerina's Cottage

___________________________________________________________________________

In the days after he returned to Treve, time was spent revisiting the places of his youth,
remembering times with his brother and reflecting back on those now lost to him...

And, those now found...

Cliffs of Treve

:: standing near the edge, dark eyes holding on the last rays of light as the night comes, the wind whipping his cloak back from his body as he stands silently in thought ::

-=the hem of her cloak snapped in the breeze, golden tendrils blew about her veiled face, slightly breathless from her hike, she paused to look over the cliffs, not seeing him at first, she leaned against an outcropping of rock=-

:: his thoughts cast back to a time long ago, remembering the last days he was in Treve right before he left, standing in this very spot and thinking it would be the last time, being back brings memories crashing in his mind ::

-=crystal blue eyes shone brightly as she gazed at the scenery... how she had missed her home of Treve those many months she was gone on what turned out to be a fools journey=-

:: lowering to a crouch, balancing on the balls of his feet, a rock is gripped, turned in his hand before it's launched over the jagged rocks below ::

-=stepping away from the rock, pebbles scattered beneath her step... smiling, she lowered the hood of her cloak to feel the wind in her hair... she loved Treve and all it's cliffs... this was her place for quiet contemplation=-

:: a narrowing of his gaze draws it to his side as he hears footsteps, he rises, turning as he does, his jet black cloak roiling around his leather clad form as the wind blows at his back, grey-black eyes sweep the area, catching sight of movement, his hand falling to the sheathed blade at his hip as he steps behind a large rock ::

-=veils were unpinned so that she could feel the wind on her face as she took a deep breath of the crisp air, with a lifting of her chin and her eyes closing she reveled in just being there... this was her place, no others ventured this high=-

:: the moons light cast down upon her, his gaze unwavering as he watches her unpin her veils, a brow arcs as he starts to grin, his steps caught within his predatory gait, near silent as he moves, coming up behind her and only then does he speak :: Venturing out a long way to feel the wind on your face. :: his voice deep and rumbling behind her ::

-=with a startled gasp, she spun around, her grip on the veils loosened, one was dropped and lifted in the wind for a moment before fluttering out of reach and over the cliff's edge... fathomless blue eyes widened to almost saucer size as with fingers that seemed to tangle, her remaining four veils were hastily pinned in place=- Sir!! What are you doing here??

:: his hand shot out and gripped her upper arm, steadying her as she spun, the edge precariously close, his lips creased with a slow easy grin as he released her arm, watching those veils conceal her face :: No, the question is what are you doing here, and who are you? :: dark eyes hold on her shocked gaze, then a glance given to see she wanders with no guards ::

-=as his grip on her arm released, she stepped away, putting a respectable distance between her and this man and a safe distance from the cliff... her eyes seemed to almost flash with anger... someone had dared to venture to a place she was most possessive about... her voice was almost haughty in tone=- This is... my... spot! No one comes here but my guards and myself!

:: his arms cross over the expanse of his chest, his eyes begin a slow roam of her robed form, his grin remains and seems to fix in place, he cants his head toward the path and then back, he was now blocking her way :: You've answered only one of my questions. To which I claim this as my cliff. Now who are you, Lady? Or should I take a look under those veils again to see for myself?

-=she had slipped from her guards, one of her favorite pass times... however, Darius, who has been with her for years, knew her well and knew this was the time of day she would be found at the cliffs... summoning the other three men who protected the Lady, they were on their way up the narrow path=-

-=her gaze narrowed at the threat, hands balled to fists and rested on the gentle swell of her hips as she answered him=- I am Lady Kerina Relious and this is my cliff... it has been my place for many years! Now, Sir... who are you?

:: watching her gaze flare with her temper, he could only laugh, the sound rich and deep as it met the night air, his arms uncross as he takes a step forward, standing a good head and shoulders over her, seeming slightly ominous the distance is closed :: This cliff has been a place I have come since my youth. I doubt you are older than I am, Lady Kerina. Or, should I take another look to make sure?

You'll do no such thing! I have lived in Treve for many years and have never seen you before... how is it you claim to have been coming here since your youth, Hmmmm?

:: grinning still as he keeps walking toward her :: Relious...? :: he stops in his steps :: Was there not an Ubar by that name?

-=her chin lifted more... had to with as close as he was getting, she had to crane her neck to keep her gaze fixed on his eyes=- Yes... there was... Karzak Relious was my Companion... now Sir! No more avoiding my question... who are you?

:: with that knowledge he eases back from her, his grin however still remains, he nods his head to her slightly in respect of the station she once held :: Lo, Talon of Treve. Sword to House Darkke. I have been gone for some time and have recently come home, Lady. Hence why you have not seen me.

-=hearing the name of the house, her angry glare softened yet she was still miffed that someone else laid claim to what had been considered her private place... as he stepped back, her hands lowered from her hips=- Well... -=nods slightly in acknowledgement of a warrior of Treve=- ...well met, Sir.

Well met indeed, Lady :: glancing over his shoulder as he hears the sound of grunting men, he sees the guards rounding the bend, all of them giving him a look like a fight may be brewing, he turns back to her and nods his head ::

-=a hint of mirth crept into her eyes when she saw the look on Darius's face... it was a look she has seen many times... when the men saw Talon, she lifted her hand slightly in a signal to Darius that all was well but stay near by just incase=-

-=glancing back at Talon, a smile played on veiled lips, the light of the moons reflected in her eyes=- I suppose we'll have to work out some sort of... arrangement... regarding possession of the cliffs... a visitation schedule of sorts...

:: nodding to the guards as they ease down and mill about the area, he turns back and chuckles :: That should be interesting, Lady. The 1st half of the month is mine, 2nd half is yours?

Hmmmm... I can see we will have to do some negotiating... my habit is to come here almost nightly... sometimes as the dawn breaks as well. I couldn't go two hands without coming here.

:: leaning back against the rock looming up behind him, he smiles and nods, his expression changing as grey-black eyes sweep over the landscape :: Nor could I.

-=her eyes followed the path taken by his and for a moment, she was silent... the view never ceased to fill her with a sense of awe at it's beauty=-

-=her soft voice broke the silence=- It's breath taking... isn't it?

:: his eyes sweep back to her as she turns, his gaze again lingering on her as he pulls from the rock, glances to the guards and then looks back :: I should head back to the house, I have papers to file for my caste. Yes, it is. :: his eyes never leaving her as he speaks, his grin slowly returning as well ::

If there is anything I might do to assist, Sir... please let me know. I've accepted the position of Scribe to House Darkke...-= as she glanced at him, a smile slowly formed beneath her four veils=-

:: a brow arcs, his gaze questioning for a moment :: You have? Have you... moved in as well?

No...my mother objects to my leaving House Sadus so, at least for the time being... I'm living in a cottage on Sadus grounds. However, I'll be at House Darkke daily... I should go there tonight to meet the members of the house.

I see. Welcome to the house then Lady, I'm sure you'll be kept busy. If you'd like to go now, I will take you there.

Thank you, Sir... I'd like that.

:: nodding as he glances to her guards, he grins and turns offering her his arm for the walk back down the path ::

-=looking up at him, she slipped her hand to the crook of his arm and before another step was taken, she looked over her shoulder for one last view from the cliffs=-

:: knowing the landscape like a picture painted in his mind, he smiled as he caught her looking again and then headed for the path, walking slower than normal for her sake ::

-=she tried to keep a serious expression on her face as they walked past Darius and the men...the guard grumbled under his breath and signaled for the men to fall in behind=-
