"Honor, is your most precious possession. If lost, it is gone, and gone forever.
It is like a tarn with wings of gold, that sits but once upon a warrior's helm,
and when it departs, it returns no more. It is gone, and gone forever.
But, never forgotten..." Hunters of Gor, pages 275 - 276

Many years ago, when I was a young boy, I asked my father,
"What is honor?", he said the only true answer can be this; "Honor is what
no man can give you and none can take away. Honor is a mans gift to himself."

When I asked if women had honor as well, his answer was, "Free Women have
the heart of honor, and we must cherish and protect it in them. We must never
mistreat a Free Woman nor malign a man, or stand by and see another do so."

Honor grows in you and speaks to you, and you must listen to it.

Honor is...

*Honor is respecting the man who faces you in battle.

Honor is what no man can give you and none can take away. Honor is a mans gift to himself.

*Honor is knowing your limits, but taking them one step further.

Honor is the challenging shriek of a wounded bird, too weak to fly.

*Honor is standing your ground when steel rings loudly about you in battle.

Honor is the glint of sunlight on bright rooftops, and the sting of the wind in one's eyes.

*Honor is the way you deal with your friends and your foes.

Honor is the taste of blood in your mouth and the smell of your own sweat.

*Honor is stepping before a blade meant for your Brother in arms.

Honor is a mouthful of raw fear, chewed, swallowed and choked down burning.

*Honor is something felt, known, and believed so deeply, that none can alter its meaning.

Honor is marching your final step, and then taking another.

*Honor is accepting the inevitable and knowing when to walk away.

Honor is digging deeper than you have to.

*Honor is looking into the eyes of the man who you have just slain, and giving him due respect.

Honor is spitting into Death's face and laughing as you fall into the pit.

*Honor is living each day with the knowledge that this may be your last, and loving every moment you have.

Honor is refusing to acknowledge that you are alone.

*Honor is standing shoulder to shoulder with your Brothers in arms, and meeting the enemy head-on.

Honor is not moving while the wave crashes down.

*Honor is knowing that you have been given a gift, and cherishing each day.

Honor is singing bold songs because your enemies might be listening.

*Honor is not standing by idly as another is maligned unjustly.

Honor grows in you and speaks to you, and you must listen to it.

*Honor is stepping back, looking over your life and being able to close your eyes with a light heart and spirit.

Honor is, and always will be, beyond description.

*Honor is something different to each man, yet common to all.
