MiniReview
When i first saw the title Spriggan on mIRC channel, i have not
a clue what it is about. It is not an ordinary word, and it gives
no idea of what it could mean either. So i decided make a search
on the web to see what is the average scores could this Spriggan
get. I was surprised by its scores... A+, 9 out of 10, 5 on 5...
WOW!
After watching it myself, i must admit it is indeed an impressive
movie (Spriggan: The motion picture.) I found it boring at
first, because you have no idea what is going on except a few guy
is searching for something and the second after... BOOM! I was going
to turn it off, since it seems so boring! But then right after the
fighting scenes had commenced; i couldn't wait to see what is going
to happen next. Gosh, this movie's fighting scenes rocks! Smooth
and fast pace combat with a little combination of Jackie Chan's
style. Especially our main character of the story, Yu Ominae, he
looks somewhat like Jackie Chan too with his big nose. =)
In addition to the superb and detailed drawings on the fighting
scene, the background drawings were excellent too. Such as the cities,
the landscapes, and the extraction centre, they are one of the most
beautiful drawings i ever seen. As for the music, they are all instrumental,
most of them were classics and some of them were kind a techno+rock+mixes.
(i think it's great to convert them and use them in Flash hehe...)
Well, if you like extreme combat, shit loads of weapon shooting,
and overflowing blood that seems to be never ends. Then you must
try Spriggan! If you are a Christian or Catholic believer, it might
be for you too. 'Cos it talks about the Noah's Ark. Who knows?
Maybe they like anime too right? ;) Hum... the only thing i found
it weird was the ending, it seems to be there might be a Spriggan
II in the future, or even some OVA episodes, because towards the
end of the movie, the final boss mentioned about the "dimension
portal" is every where around the world as he got sucked in
the portal... What does that mean...? Was that really the ending?
But whatever it has a ending or not... This movie is a must!

Story
A young man by the name of Yu Ominae, member of the secret organization
known as ARCAM must protect the world's most dangerous archaeological
find from the unprepared public and those who would abuse its power.
The true function of Noah's arc is not fully known, but discovered
in the mountains of Turkey he must learn of its capabilities and
take measures to ensure the security and safety of the organization
and ultimately, the planet. Driven by the suicidal death of a classmate
bearing in blood, the words 'Noah will be your grave' on his shirt,
Yu joins fellow ARCAM member Jean Jaquemonde in Europe. Both elite
warriors known as spriggans, trained from birth they possess almost
inhuman physical abilities and highly tuned scenes that aid them
in what will prove to be their most dangerous assignment yet.
The one man standing to stop him is power corrupted Captain McDougal
of the American Pentagon, an adolescent boy with telekinetic powers
and a temper towards those in his way. With the aid of mercenaries
for hire, Fatman and Littleboy join the Pentagon team in an effort
to retain the precious artifact for themselves, along with the powers
it possesses.
Based on the Japanese Manga of the same name or 'Striker' in North
America this 90 min action frenzy will sure to capture the excitement
of American audiences while showcasing the most detailed and fluid
animation the world has yet to produce. Truly a visual landmark
in animation and design, Spriggan will prove to be the film that
opens America's eyes to Japanese anime and receive the praise and
rewards it so richly deserves.
