This is the home of Callisto, rider of Cailith the green dragon. If you are familiar with the books of Anne McCaffrey then you will understand immediately.  If you are not then perhaps you should try to find some of her books as they are (in my opinion at least! )  some of the best science fiction/fantasy ever written. Especially "The Dragon Riders of Pern" series.

In real life I am a mother of three children, I work almost full-time   and look after my family the rest of the time.  I decided I wanted to do something else with my time as well and thought that if  I become good enough at web designing I might even be able to work from home rather than pay someone else to look after my children.  This is my first effort in that direction.

I have very eclectic taste  in everything I like (reading, music, art, swimming, horses, scuba diving and abseiling), so this site will probably seem to be a mishmash of styles. That is part of who I am :) It is also a kind of running time sheet of my progress in teaching myself about web building and graphics... some pages were created using a technique I was either learning or had just mastered. My last adventure was to join the Flights of Fantasy team of Mystickal Realmswhere I met so many interesting & helpful people whilst I moved up the ranks of this competition site. I made it all the way to the Alchemist level of the finals but did not win. Being in a competition was a lot more commitment than I had bargained for so I decided to retire at that point. If you have the time & inclination though it is a lot of fun as well as rewarding in its own right. I have so much more to learn and more people to learn from!

My character Callisto is also a small part of me ..she is who I am to the people in chat rooms that I go to and my persona when I   join a MUSH or other RPG format. She is only 5ft 2 inches tall with a solid but still feminine build, dark blond hair and fair skin that  is prone to freckles. Her eyes are usually green but have been known to go gray when she is angry ( a very rare but effective occurrence !).

Callisto was born in a southern hold , her mother (pictured right with her blue fire lizard ) was a journeyman Healer and her father was a journeyman Harper, so she grew up with a love of music and a bit of a talent for healing (especially fire lizards and later on dragons).  Callisto was discovered on Search at the age of 13 but did not impress Cailith until she was nearly 15.  She had remained at the weyr after the first hatching she unsuccessfully stood at because she was so good with wounded dragons. 

When Callisto was eighteen her parents were killed due to what she considered the incompetence of her Weyrleader and their Lord Holder. She became very bitter and angry , deciding that as soon as Cailith was mature enough they would set out on their own to find another weyr where they could be happy. 

After visiting many weyrs Callisto & Cailith came to Paradise River Weyr and immediately felt safe and comfortable. They spent several days there before approaching the weyrwoman,Liria, and requesting to join. The answer, of course, was 'yes' and the pair were finally home.It was not long before they came to the attention of a very handsome wingleader, N'son and his bronze,Anguth , when the pair were injured during Fall. At first Callisto thought it was the usuall patient-nurse fixation but N'son was quick to apprise her of the intensity of both his and Anguth's feelings. Cailiths first mating flight was quite an eye opener for both of them!
