Anna Matthews sent this birdhouse to Sherry Banks. Please note the beaded hanger. A great idea!

Valerie Smith sent this birdhouse with pretty blue flowers to Margie Malone.

Karen Zeller sent this wonderful gourd house to Sharon Steifer.

I just got my birdhouse in the exchange from Jeanie Dixon. It is absolutely adorable. The birdhouse gives one a feeling of joy and serenity. What a talented lady Jeanie is. I love it and shall treasure it. There are almost a dozen different types of flowers on it so artiscally arranged that one can almost smell them. Behind the fence there is colony of 5 birdhouses. What a great job she has done. As I look at the birdhouse I am transported into a happy, joyous place where I can smell the flowers and hear the birds singing and serenity abounds. I am very proud to be the owner of this exquisite work of art. Thank you very, very much Jeanie.

My Gourd Exchange from Sharon: I received the most beautiful holiday golden gourd from Sharon Stiefer in Texas. Sharon was quite creative. She had applied fabric as part of her design for the leaves and the red flowers. I have applied fabric to wood but never to a gourd. Sharon did a wonderful job!!! This is Sharon's first gourd creation. I will treasure it for many years. First creations are Special!!! Thank You, Jeanie (no picture available)

Ronna Wuttke sent this one to Rheba Rivers. Here's what Rheba said: Oh! Hello again "y'all"! I just received another package from Ronna Wuttke of SC. This package held a natural Gourd Bird House, very unique, and was a complete surprise to me. Oh! How nice it is to be surprised! Ronna said that this gourd won a fourth place in a Kentucky Show. It is so nice-it has a "Common Fly" burned and stained(large size) to the left of the opening. I feel so privileged to own this. I was totally surprised that I would get this after the nice Lawn Angel of re-cycled tin. Rheba Rivers in Louisiana

Nancy Hardesty sent a Patriotic Birdhouse to Mark Woodworth. This was the clue: A patriotic birdhouse is now on the way to a place where the sun always shines... for Flag day & 4th of July, it should arrive in time in our colors we proudly wave, the birds will think it's divine. {Hey folks, I"m definitely not a poet, but I tried. :-) He has received it but no picture is available yet. Here's what he said about his gourd: When I picked up my mail Tuesday, I was surprised by a large box. In it was a wonderful, personalized 4th of July birdhouse gourd from Nancy Hardesty. Thanks Nancy! I think I will hang it from a swivel so it can spin and the red and white stripes will have a barber-pole effect. Might make the birds dizzy though. In my haste to send it I didn't take a photo. I hope Mark will take one for everyone to see.

From Susan Davis to Dawn Christenson. Here's an excerpt from her post on the Patch: "Dear gourd family - Today I received a lovely birdhouse from Susan Davis and I want to publicly thank her. It has a large artec looking sun around the bird hole with a turtle (my son's favorite part) , primitive colorful birds and indians on it. The hanger is quite unique. She ran a dowel rod threw it and laced it with a leather thong and beads. Thank you so much. It is already hanging in my maple tree! Dawn

From Lynda Davidson to Susan Davis. 3 great views of this lovely birdhouse.

Cynthia Mayeaux sent this one to Patsy Mericle. Cynthia had this to say: This picture is a full frontal view of the gourd I made. I call it my Michigan Gourd because it is totally representative of Michigan. I grew the gourd, the pansies and the cedar. I used Petoskey stones that I had gathered, and the copper hanger is representing the copper mining industry that helped build the Upper Peninsula.
