Ambitions
Ch 4

“Sonny you know I can’t tell you anything. Thank you for your help. It is time for you to go.” Jerry said moving towards the door to show Sonny out.

“Not so fast, Jacks. I took a bullet for your mysterious dealings. You were working the dock. I want to know why.” Sonny said as he sat on the couch to show that he had no intention of leaving anytime soon.

“I don’t have to tell you anything, Corinthos.” Jerry said as he took a seat on the opposite chair.

“I am not going anywhere until I have some information.” Sonny said stubbornly as he raised his feet to rest them on the coffee table. Every movement entrenched him further into the room.

“Well get ready for a long wait. I hope you didn’t have any plans, because you are in for a long wait.” Jerry said with a smile as he picked up a magazine on the table and seemed to focus on one of the articles.

---

Eve was busy working on her charts when she heard the door open. She hoped the person simply wanted coffee or something. She didn’t have time to socialize if she was going to get done with all of her paperwork before her dinner with Sonny. She smiled at the thought of him. He would be good for an adventure or two at least.

Kevin looked befuddled at her smile. “Penny for your thoughts. What has you blushing?” Kevin asked as he walked up to her.

“You can rest assured it isn’t you.” Eve said as she tried to ignore the heat on her cheeks.

“Ouch. What did I do to deserve that?” Eve’s quick wit always entertained him. While that biting comment was no worse than others, he had no clue what he done to warrant it.

“Nothing Kevin, it was just easy. Speaking of easy, how is Laura Spencer?” Eve asked trying anything to keep the conversation away from her love life.

“Very funny.” Kevin said with a mock laugh. “Laura Webber is anything but easy.”

“Awww, poor Kevin. Where is she anyway?” Eve asked surprised to not see them together. It seemed like they had been inseparable since the Nurses ball.

“She had a lunch meeting. I imagine it was about the teen-counseling center. She has her own responsibilities. I don’t need to keep tabs on her.

“I see now. You don’t care where she is as long as it isn’t with Scott Baldwin.” Eve said with a knowing smile.

---

“I am ready Mr. Baldwin.” Laura said still smiling from Scott calling her Ms. Webber. She would always love Luke. She prayed that in time they could become close friends again. She didn’t want to lose all ties with her ex husband. Although she missed him sometimes, it was nice to know that they had each moved on. There had been too much pain during their final years together.

“Excellent. Lunch is ready.” Scott said as he motioned towards the table where a nice spread was set out.

“You cook?” Laura asked surprised as she looked at the table.

“I am not the same person we were as kids. Serena made me learn a lot of things. She kept wanting to eat. Eventually I decided it would be easier to feed her if I expanded my culinary skills. Now that I have surprised you, why don’t you give me your surprise.” Scott referred to the message she had left on his machine.

---

“Would you like a surprise?” Stefan asked as he moved towards Bobbie. Bobbie looked a little confused at his question. “You asked me to entertain you.”

“And a surprise is my entertainment? I would love a surprise.” Bobbie said happily. Still she was curious. As stuffy as he sometimes seemed, she never knew exactly what he had planned.

Stefan pulled a jewelry box out of his pocket. He was just about to give it to her when the phone rang. He sighed and picked up the receiver. “Cassadine.” He said into the phone.

The pause on the other end of the line seemed interminable when somebody finally spoke. “I must have the wrong number.”

---

Luke groaned as his phone rang. Pulling back from his wife’s embrace he spoke. “Do you think if we ignore it, it will go away?”

Lucy laughed and tried not to sound disappointed as she spoke. She hated being interrupted. “It could be Laura about Lulu or Carly about Sarah. It could be Bobbie telling you where she has been for the last week. Maybe you should get it.”

“We can call them back when we are done.” It seemed like every time they were alone together the phone would ring or Lane would cry. Luke was not about to give up this time with Lucy. Focusing his kisses on her neck slowly unzipped her dress. As he pulled the fabric away he kissed the newly exposed skin.

Luke groaned again when he heard the voice on the machine. Pulling himself away from Lucy was almost painful. Still he had to take that call.

---

Jax wished his phone would ring, the fire alarm would go off, or world war three would begin. He would do anything he could think of not to be there at that moment. He would have plenty of questions to answer, from both women. The intrusion didn’t surprise him. She always had impeccable timing. Yet, this was certainly not how he wanted V to find out.

Jax was still trying to figure out what to say when the woman entered and spoke again. “Is that right Jax? Are you hiding me?” She asked in playful but obviously stern manner.

Venus looked at the woman and smiled. “You are his wife?” Venus asked as she noted the ring on the other woman’s finger. “Congratulations.” V tried to sound sincere. “I guess I now know the reason you didn’t marry Chloe.”

Jax looked disheartened and guilty as he spoke to the women who were staring at him. “Give me a minute and I will explain.”

The ladies looked at each other and then at him. “We are waiting.”
