“What will we tell our grandchildren? That we are smart, happy, intelligent, beautiful people.” Jax answered with a shining smile.
“You know what I mean Jax. What will we tell them about how we got married?” Alexis asked sternly.
“You are worried about how we are going to explain our relationship to our imaginary grandchildren?” Jax tried to keep a straight face, but failed.
“Don’t make fun of me, Jax. Just answer the question.” Alexis said with a mock whine.
“Well I guess I can practice telling bed time stories.” Jax said with a smile before he began telling his version of how he and Alexis ended up as man and wife for real.
Jason looked into his wife’s eyes. He would give everything he had to take the pain away. He wished he could promise that everything would work out. Unfortunately, he didn’t have that confidence.
Carly watched Jason searching for an answer. “You can’t tell me, can you?” She asked near tears. “You can’t tell me what will happen if we can’t find my father.”
A single tear ran down Carly’s face. Jason wiped it away with his thumb. “I will not stop looking for him.” Jason tried to sound positive.
“I know that, Jase. But what if you can’t find him?” Carly asked again. She couldn’t believe that the family she worked so hard to achieve could be take away from her.
“Let’s not think about that, Carly.” Jason answered.
“How can we not? She is all I think about.” Carly said through deep sobs.
“I know, me too.” Jason said softly. “Why don’t we go check on her, okay?” Jason asked as he began to stand up.
“We should spend all the time we can with her.” Carly replied as she stood up and headed for the stairs.
Laura listened to the distinct sound of her call waiting. She wasn’t going to answer it. Talking with Lucy was too important. However, worrying it might be about Lulu she decided she had too. “Hold on.” She told Lucy as she clicked over.
Lucy groaned. What right did Laura Webber have to put her on hold? She was venting quietly when Luke came up behind her. “What’s the matter, Darlin?”
“Your ex wife called me and put me on hold.” Lucy said trying to remain angry. She found it difficult with Luke rubbing her back.
“Laura? What did she want?” Luke asked curiously.
“I just told you I was on hold.” Lucy’s frustrated tone came through her words.
“I can help keep your mind off of it.” Luke whispered in her ear before beginning to kiss her neck.
“Laura Webber.” Laura said into the receiver after clicking over to the other line.
Stefan’s tone became grave. How could he begin to tell her something like this? “Laura where are you now?”
“I am in my car. Why, Stefan?” Laura asked confused. Stefan sounded more upset than usual. “What’s wrong?”
“I need to see you. I am at the hospital.” Stefan answered in the same grave tone. He couldn’t allow Laura to drive upset. He would wait to tell her.
“I am busy. Can it wait?” Stefan’s tone told Laura it was important, but she couldn’t imagine it was more important than her predicament. She had no idea what he could want. The youth outreach program was doing well. It couldn’t be about that.
“No, Laura. Meet me in the hospital as soon as possible.” Stefan said sternly before hanging up. He wouldn’t give her a chance to back out.
“Is she on her way?” Bobbie asked softly.
“I imagine so, yes.” Stefan said as he began to rub his temples.
“Let me do that.” Bobbie said as she walked around behind him and took over.
“Oh Barbara. Thank you.” Stefan said softly.
“What did I have in mind?” Eve asked with a devilish grin. “Why should I tell you now?”
“I might give you what you want.” Sonny answered.
“Really?” Eve asked with a saucy smile. “What will you give me?”
“What do you want?” Sonny asked. If she kept looking at him like that he was liable to give her everything.
Eve colored slightly as she began to share her desires with Sonny.
Jerry listened intently as V told her story.
“You know how I ended up with him. It was stupid.” She said with a self depreciating smile. “I wanted somebody to want me.”
Like Jax never did, Jerry thought.
”Anyway, we went away. It was great at first. I was having new adventures. Seeing new places. He was completely devoted to me.”
“What changed?” Jerry asked to keep her talking.
“I did. He never stopped doting on me. I am a big girl. I can take care of myself.” V answered. “I missed having friends. I missed having a job. I missed going out. I missed everything.”
“How did you get back here?” Jerry asked.
“In the WSB, or in Port Charles?” V asked wondering how much she could tell him.
“Both.” He answered.
