Ambitions
Ch 12

“Are you sure you want to learn what happened with Simon?” V asked softly.

“Positive, Luv. One day you announce you are leaving for two years and then you are back in just under one. You never back out on a commitment. What happened?”

“Why should I tell you?” V asked with a smile.

“We are partners we should share everything.” Jerry said with a smile.

“You want me to share the worst experience of my life?” V asked curious about his curiosity.

Jerry nodded. He wanted to know everything. “Tell me, Luv.”

V groaned before beginning her story.

---

In the other bedroom Sonny and Eve talked while the awkwardly tried to work out sleeping arrangements. “How did you get me into this, Corinthos?” Eve asked with a saucy grin.

“What did Jerry say? They needed a medic. I knew Lucky Spencer. I am his father’s business partner. I hope we can help, however, if this is too much….” Sonny began.

“Well I didn’t really expect dinner and a movie for our first date. Still, I wasn’t expecting mission impossible either.” Eve interrupted him. She was not about to risk her position in the mission.

Sonny read the look on her face. “You are looking forward to this.” He announced with a surprised expression.

Eve gave a defeated look. “ And I was so hoping I could convince you owed me something for going along with this.”

“What did you have in mind?” Sonny asked with a smile. Somehow he knew her answer would entertain him.

Stefan jumped at the sound of the phone. He prayed the call was about Nikolas. He prayed the news was good.

Bobbie moved from his lap. If it was the doctor, Stefan would want his full attention with them. She squeezed his shoulder reassuringly as Stefan picked up the receiver.

“Cassadine.” He said sternly as a greeting.

Bobbie tried to interpret the content of the phone conversation by reading Stefan’s reactions. It was about Nikolas, the news wasn’t good.

Finally Stefan hung up the phone and turned to his wife. “He is out of surgery.”

“And?” Bobbie probed.

“They don’t know.” Stefan said gravely. He was not a man to display his emotions but he couldn’t hide the fear in his voice. “I have to see him. I have to call his mother.”

---

Lucy groaned as she listened to the ringing phone. Luke was gone, Lane was asleep and now the phone was ringing. She would never get any time alone, not that she usually minded. “Lucy Spencer.” She said as she picked up the receiver.

The sound of that name still cut deep. However, Laura was glad she caught Lucy. She didn’t want to explain her situation with Luke. Lucy would understand. Lucy knew how to handle both Scott and Kevin. If her situation weren’t so desperate she would have found it funny. “Hi, It’s Laura. I need to talk to you.”

Lucy shuddered. What could Laura possibly want? Was she doing something wrong with Lulu? Had she broken up with Kevin and decided she wanted Luke back. Lucy kept asking herself what it could be. Realizing she was being silly, she spoke. “When do you want to talk? About what?”

Now Laura was puzzled. This really wasn’t a situation she felt comfortable discussing on the phone. “Can we meet someplace?” Laura asked timidly.

“I guess we can. Why do we want to do that? Is it about Lulu? I know a lot of parents wouldn’t go for makeup at such a young age but I wanted to try out my new line. Luke said it was okay. She looked adorable.” Lucy babbled hoping she hadn’t caused more stress between Laura and Luke.

“It isn’t Lulu.” She said softly. “It is something else.” Laura began to explain the situation when her call waiting clicked.

---

“I should get going too. I have a wife to get back too.” Luke said with a grin.

Carly certainly wasn’t complaining. “Bye Luke.”

“We aren’t finished, Caroline.” Luke left after shooting Carly a menacing grin.

“Why is he so creepy?” Carly asked her husband after Luke left.

“Why does he bug you so much?” Jason asked with an amused expression. He never understood her animosity towards Luke.

Carly didn’t understand it either. She turned to Jason. “How did you learn about Sarah’s condition?”

“Library.” He answered shyly. “I hope you don’t mind. I needed to do something to help her.”

She moved closer to Jason. “What if we can’t find him?”

---

Alexis ran her hands over Jax chest. “How did I get lucky enough to find you?” She asked with a smile.

“Maybe Ashton is good for something. He introduced us.” Jax said with a smile. He still worried about his wife’s relationship with Ned. However, while holding his naked wife, he couldn’t worry much.

“What are we going to tell our grandchildren?” Alexis asked a little more seriously.

“We are having grandkids? Mum will be thrilled.” Jax teased.

Alexis blushed. She had gotten ahead of herself again. She didn’t know that she wanted kids. Well, she did want them, but she wasn’t ready to admit it. “If we had them what would we tell them about us?”
