Ambitions
Ch 10

Eve and Sonny looked at Jerry and V stunned. "Lucky Spencer is dead. There was a body." Sonny said in disbelief.

"Do they read?" V asked Jerry sarcastically.

Eve looked at Sonny. "Page seven through nine prove that the body found in the building was not Lucky Spencer. Although dental records matched, the deep tissue samples taken for DNA did not. With only a .0001% match there is no way that body could belong to Lucky Spencer." Eve explained the complicated medical reports in layman terms.

"See having a medic has already proved useful." Jerry gloated.

"We haven't agreed to join this mission." Eve said frankly. While it did seem exciting, it also seemed dangerous. "If the security report is accurate, people will more than likely be hurt."

"That is exactly why we need a medic." Jerry said triumphantly as he made his point.

"If Eve doesn't want to join she wont." Sonny tried to stand up for Eve's wishes.

"She read the file. She doesn't have much of a choice." V explained.

Sonny looked to Eve to apologize. However he saw a smile on her face as she began to speak. "Adventure here I come. Don't get me killed and we are good to go."

"When do we leave?" Sonny asked impressed with his date's sense of adventure. He was determined to bring his partner's son home alive.

Emily remained silent long after Stefan asked her about the accident. Stefan repeated his questions. "Did you see the car? Did you see the driver?"

"No. I didn't see anything." Emily tried to keep the crack out of her voice as she lied.

Stefan heard it. "Try again, Ms. Quartermaine. A person hit my son. They left the scene of the accident. That person needs to be found." Stefan explained briefly.

"I can't tell you." Emily sobbed. She would protect him. She had no other choice.

"Emily, you know something. If you don't tell it is obstruction of justice." Stefan didn't feel the need to finish the threat.

Emily resigned herself to telling the truth. "The care belonged to my brother." She said softly.

---

"Answer the question. Who is the father." Scott's anger and frustration were clearly audible through his tone.

"I wish I knew." Laura sighed. A mixture of heightened emotions due to pregnancy and the stress of having both men present, brought her close to tears.

"You have no idea?" Scott asked trying to remain calm.

"She told you she didn't know." Kevin kept his anger and pain in check by thinking logically.

"Thank you, Collins. I can hear." Scott said sarcastically.

"Please stop it, both of you." Laura begged.

"How did this happen, Laura?" Scott refused to relent. He could be a nice guy, however, his ex wife was telling him she may or may not be carrying his child. After the pain of losing Christina, the idea of loving and losing this child ate at him.

Laura didn't say a word. She tried to fight off the feeling of nausea building up inside her. Why did this happen? Why did she sleep with them so close to one another? Why did she always end up trapped between two men she loved? Why was she sitting so close to all of this food?

"How did this happen? Well gee Sherlock, did you miss that day in health class?" Sarcasm seeped through Kevin's words. However, he looked to Laura for the answer. Seeing her pale complexion and green tint he stopped pushing. "Are you okay?"

Laura stood shakily and began to move quickly. "Laura the bathroom is the other way." Scott said dumbfounded by the direction she took.

Knowing, to remain sane, she had to get away from them; she sprinted to the front door. She ran to her car, started it and drove off, in record time. What am I going to do now? She asked herself as she drove further away from the firehouse. Knowing that either Scott or Kevin would check her apartment first, she called the only person she can think of to call.

---

Bobbie looked shocked as she listened to her brother. She wanted to reprimand Luke for his rudeness. She also needed to hear Carly's answer. "Carly is that true? Are you sick."

Jason winced as he took notice of the glares from his wife. "I didn't tell him anything."

"Obviously you told him something Jase. He wouldn't be here if you hadn't."

"Tell me Caroline." Luke still held out hope it would be nothing.

"I had a blood transfusion at the hospital. They are supposed to be safe." Carly's sarcastic but defeated tone worried Bobbie and Luke. "Hepatitis." Carly said quickly to dispel the fear of AIDS. "They are still testing to find the strain." Carly explained further.

Bobbie looked on heartbroken as she moved to hold her daughter. "Oh Carly. I am so sorry." Then she turned to Luke. "Why Luke? Why did you have to bring it up?"

---

Jax and Alexis walked slowly to their king sized bed as they worked on removing one another's clothing. Each stealing long fiery kisses between buttons.

After what seemed like way too much effort, Alexis had Jax lying next to her in only his boxers. "Darling, I am replacing all of your buttons with Velcro." Alexis teased as she ran her hands over his tanned muscular chest.

"Easy access clothing? I like that idea." Jax laughed as he undid the snaps from her garter. After rolling her stockings down her legs, he placed slow luxurious kisses all the way up her body. By the time he reached her breasts she was putty in his hands.

"I need you Jax." She moaned reaching for his most intimate part.

Jax smiled and pulled away. "No."

"What do you mean, 'no'?" Alexis asked in disbelief as she shot up to watch at his retreat.

"Not until you tell me about your meeting with Ashton."
