What are Technologies?

The simplest way for you to look at technologies is the more realistic version of Techniques. They are Androids', and other non-living characters', weapons of mass destruction. They are as various as their Life Force counterparts, and share many things about them: Special Attributes, The Forms, Ability to have special purposes, Where the weapon comes from and even Special Physical Attacks.

Of course, there is a major difference between Android Technologies and Techniques, they can only be used a certain number of times before having to charge up their energy sources. This keeps Androids from throwing massive energy attack after energy attack at their opponents. To increase the amount of times the character can use the attack costs 2,000 Zeni. For the rest, costs are 10x that of Techniques in Zeni.

Ex.: Android #205193 is a starting character, and all starting Androids -- and the like -- get one basic ranged energy attack for free. And that is (50 EP) (3 Uses) (Acc +0%) (Dmg 1) (0 Zeni). Okay, so he has his basic attack, but he wants to use some of his 1,500 Zeni to buy another weapon (something stronger). He starts out with the stats of a basic energy weapon. He spends 1,000 Zeni to bring the Dmg Multiple up to 2. He also wants to increase the accuracy bonus up to 25% which costs him another 1,000 zeni for a total of 2,000 zeni. But that's over his limit so he'll bring his Energy cost up to 150 points. He wants no added bonuses.

Aiming Laser (150 Energy) (3 Uses) (Acc +25%) (Dmg 2) (Zeni 1000)

Can Technologies be used as physical attacks?

Yes, Technologies can be used for physical attacks. They are similiar in all respects, once you ignore the fact that they're bought with Zeni. They, too, cost 10x as much Zeni as Techniques with TP. Unlike their purely Energy-ridden brothers, Physical attacks can be used as many times as their batteries will allow.

Ex.: Android #205193 still has 500 zeni left over that he wants to use for a physical-type energy attack. He starts out with (0 Energy) (Acc +0%) (Dmg +0%) (Zeni 0). He already has an attack with great accuracy, he now wants one with raw power. He spends all 500 Zeni into Dmg, bringing it up to +50%. But since he needs at least 5 Energy cost he, brings the energy cost up to 50, and putting the gained Zeni into Dmg once again.

Erupting First (50 Energy) (Acc +0%) (Dmg +100%) (Zeni 500)

What are the Android equivalents to Skills?

Well, in place of Skills, Androids have special equipment and programs they can buy. These are just as creative as skills, when deciding the effects. Like skills, you can talk to me about what a fair -- in my personal opinion -- price would be. Like always, this is negotiable. Here are a couple of examples of the types of Programs and Equipment you might encounter.

Some time has passed since Android #205193 has been seen and he has a couple of tricks up his sleeves. First of all, he's managed to find an a special energy chip. This chip will double it's battery's charge but damages it's body in doing so. It also found a crystal that can increase it's Hand Technologies power greatly.

Energy Chip (20% HP) (Doubles Maximum and current EP) (5,000 Zeni)

Crystal Prism [Passive] (Increases Dmg factor for Hand Technologies by 1) (10,000 Zeni)
