They’re both your kind of average thirteen year old, but not exactly average, I guess. Ness was famed in the small city of Onett for beating up a gang of punks called the Sharks, and then later for saving the world with three other friends (Paula, Jeff and Poo) from Giygas and Pokey. Later on, while Ness was basking in all his glory, a girl named Rae stumbled upon his small town. She had been sent out of the house by her grandmother with a map, some money, and no clue where she was going. However, this girl could fend for herself, taking on any guy that so much as made a move on her while she was walking down the road. When she came to Onett, Ness let her stay in his house for the night, and decided to follow her on her since he believed she’d be helpless without him. And so began their blind journey. Now, Ness and Rae have discovered that Giygas is back, and stronger than ever. Ness has trained Rae to use some PSI powers, and to fight with, get this, a baseball bat. Kind of funny, only, if you make fun of it…your head is the ball. Homerun? Over time the two have become good friends, sticking together through the monster fighting and shopping sprees (much to Ness’s dismay).
