Sprytes are about the same build as humans though they have pearly white skin, antennae instead of ears, pupil-less eyes, and their noses are more or less just large bumps in the center of their faces. Their hair comes in any shade of the rainbow, brown, red, blue etc. Then speak their unique language known as Bahen where words are formed from series of symbols.
Each are born with the ability to use an element (fire, earth, or water) to their advantage, but must train in order to have full control over this power. Their eyes are a shade of their element (fire=red; earth=green; water=blue). Elements are genetic therefore children recieve one of their parents' element, but children in the same family don't necessarily all get the same one.
There are two types of warriors on Baheine; the Elementals and the Knights.
The Elementals are exceptional at performing magic in the elements. They do not use any physical means of defense such as swords and daggers, relying on their magic to see them through.
The Knights prefer to use weapons over their elements giving them extraordinary physical strength and abilty in armed combat. But they are lacking in the element department, most having very VERY little magic and some, none whatsoever.
All other sprytes are inbetween on both accounts. They can use weapons and their magic, but aren't especially good at either. And then some sprytes just suck at everything. ^_^
Of each element, there are two Masters; one Master Knight and one Master Elemental. Masters are considered to be experts in their particular fields and teach their gift to those in training.
New Masters are appointed by Makitutu with recommendation of the current Master after the current Master steps down or is killed.
The Council consists of 9 members:
the 6 heads of the sub-houses (the Masters; a Knight and Elemental of each element)
the head healer
the king
and the queen (or princess in absence of the queen)
The current Nidayan Council consists of Shin, Kalira, Ledora, Lirei, Argus, Deianira, Rhyseena, Denar, & Maki
There are three houses of warriors within Nidaya; Terrasedes (earth), Aquasedes (water), and Flammasedes (fire). Each house contains two divisions of that element, the Knights and the Elementals. Students live in the house building. Each house is jointly run by the two Masters of that element.
