Note that the following is only a basic list of some spells that can generally be easily learnt by apprentice magi. An aspiring magi cannot start off with any of these spells.

Fire:

Minor Flame - A spell which conjures up a small flame in the palm on the caster. It is enough to set fire to a piece of paper, for instance, or to heat something gently. About the size of a candle-flame.

Flame Illusion - An illusion, conjuring up the image of a fire. It can be anything from a spark to a raging bonfire. Note that the image gives off no heat, only a picture is produced.

Water:

Waterball - A very small ball of water is shot out of the caster's focus (either his hands or a magical staff) and aims unerringly towards its target. It can not be deflected by normal means, but can burst upon a shield. Causes minor damamge.

Cloudcall - This spell calls a small, dense cloud over the caster's head. It can either shroud the caster in shadow, or cause him minor irritation by raining on him.

Earth:

Rumble - A minor quake in the ground is caused by this spell. The shake is enough to sway people violently, or sometimes take them off their feet entirely. The caster is not immune to this spell.

Earth Fist - A hand, formed from the very earth itself, reaches up out of the soil and will perform it's master's will for approximately three minutes. It can attack, hold objects or trip people up according to its orders.

Air:

Air Push - A small puff of air, enough to startle someone or to knock a missile off its course, is employed by this spell.

Wall - A minor barrier, a square metre in area, can be conjured up for about five seconds. It obstructs physical contact, allowing the caster to move out the way of missiles. Intelligent targets are affected to a lesser degree and magic is not affected.

Spirit:

Manipulate - This spell uses a tweak in the back of the mind to make a small change - so that a thing on which the victim had no view on suddenly becomes appealing, or a negative view into a neutral one.

Sense Feelings - The caster is able to feel any strong positive or negative feelings emanating from the subject of this spell.

Heavens:

Star Shower - A blinding shower of stars falls from the higher heavens, temporarily blinding anyone who fails to close their eyes swiftly enough. Caster is not affected, but party members with him are.

Celestial Hammer - A warhammer created out of the essence of the gods is formed in the caster's hand. It counts as a normal hammer, but can have special bonuses against evil creatures (characters will be informed). The magus is enabled to use the weapon, if he/she wasn't before, for the duration of the spell.

Death:

Iron Claw - Without warning, the victim for a couple of seconds feels a fist tightening upon his heart. For that time he is incapacitated, as he writhes on the floor in agony.

Interrogate - The magus can search the victim's mind, and reveal one piece of information he wished to conceal.
