Final Details on Final Fantasy X (PS2) 02/2001
by SupremeCmdr

Squaresoft has released the Japanese demos of FFX to industry magazines, and it was incredible. The company had planned on making this their first on-line RPG, but the game now features no on-line components. The graphics are beautiful, and for the first time in a Final Fantasy game, offer a fully 3D world. The old, fixed camera angle was traded in for the realtime 3D landscape. Much of the game features voiceovers for the characters, but how much will be translated for the US release is yet undetermined. The CG cinemas are breathtaking, like always. As for the storyline, you play as Tidus, an underwater "Blitzball" player. You join up with Yuna, a "Summoner" from a long family line of Summoners. The two join up with several other friends to drive "Sin" from the world. This is certain to be the best Final Fantasy yet.
