Nintendo

The original Nintendo was where Squaresoft made its start. The company was not doing well at all, and neared bankruptcy in Japan. They released Final Fantasy as a last-hope effort to keep the company from going under, and it worked. It paved the way to becoming the huge success that Squaresoft is today.
