This is a listing and description of the various event's that are regularly scheduled/held in RoK.
The Midnight Mosh
Created by: You
Hosted by: the ever unpredictable You.
Time: Saturdays, around 3:00 am (Considered to be on Friday night by most people)
Named the Midnight Mosh because it is held at "midnight"...if you live in the same timezone as You...(its actually at 3am!)
Description:

The Midnight Mosh was the first scheduled event, created a full turn of seasons ago, to allow players from countries other
than the US a chance to "mosh," since many of the other events occur during US daytime. Since then it's become somewhat of
an endurance test for US players as well.

Players wishing to fight in the mosh must be levels nine through twenty-five, must not be modded past racial maximum or be
using quest equipment or stat modifying potions. Once the mosh is announced, players are given some time to stock on healing
potions and manastones before "warp-ins" are called. Once "warp-ins" begin, the players may page You to be teleported to the
mosh arena (a large maze-like area), and the mosh begins. Teams are usually formed and the players fight until there are
around fifteen or so players remaining. These remaining players are warped to the elimination room to fight down to a final
winner. The last three surviving each get a prize: third prize is 100k, second prize is a one-a-day of choice, and first
prize is a brilliantly enchanted one-a-day of choice.
Rules:
No quest items
No modded chars
No stat modding potions
Level 9-25 only
Last person alive wins!
The Tough Guy Competition (TGC)
Created by: Pinchweasel
Hosted by: various different staff members
Time: Tuesdays, around 9pm.
Description:

One night, the Demigod, Pinchweasel (that'd be Pinch for short) was hovering unseen over the Realms.
He noticed many fine warriors engaged in little or no combat and he thought, "I should organize an event that would provide
these fighters with an evening's battle. Who among these bloodthirsty killers would emerge victorious if they were denied the
use of any combat aids such as healing potions, or performance enhancing brews or spells, or clan assistance?" From that
notion he invited twelve warriors from anywhere in the Realms to meet him on a patch of ground just north of Trollheim to
fight in a tournament to determine the answer to that question. Many fighters applied; the initial twelve were selected and a
large group of spectators gathered to watch the event. At the end of that first competition, Iced, the Slayer, was pronounced
the very first "Toughest Guy in the Realms" and a new event was baptized.

From that day on, many requests were received for additional TGC matches and the following week the champ fought again to
defend his title. (He lost to Sasami the Enchanter) Originally conceived as just a night's entertainment, the tournament
quickly grew into a weekly event with its own specialized combat arena, gift shop, lounge, spa, weapons and armor (currently
being developed), as well as gold offered as prizes for the winners.

Application to get into a TGC is brutally competitive with speed being the decisive factor. The combatants are typically
culled from the first 12 names to page the staffer at the time of the event. The rules of the TGC are strictly enforced with
NO potions, NO quest items, and NO performance enhancing items being chief among them. There are many more rules involved
that are gone over at the start of each competition. Failure to comply with the rules of the tournament result in
disqualification and/or replacement. Unfortunately, despite a tremendous request for it, spectators for the event had to be
discontinued due to numerous difficulties that arose from so many players in a single area as well as discipline problems
that interfered with the tournament.

The TGC is an equal opportunity event that doesn't discriminate on the basis of sex, class, or race (not even Saurians) and
public humiliation is a staple of the event as all losses in any fight will be broadcast throughout the Realms for all to see and laugh at.
Rules:
12 contestants are chosen by the staff member running the event, usually chosen by the first 12 people to page
Begins with six 1 vs 1 matches, then the 6 winners of those are split into two 3-for-alls, then the 2 winners of that duel 1 vs 1, then the winner of that has the chance to take on the defending champion from last week for the title of "Toughest Guy(or girl) in the Realms"
If you win and defend your title for 5 weeks in a row you retire undefeated and recieve a special Tough Guy weapon of your choice (TGQuarter Staff, TGDagger, TGSword, TGHammer, TGClaws) that is equal to a brill oneaday and is considered an unwipable quest item
Must be level 25 to participate
No potions of any kind are allowed
No sap, no faeriefire
Elder Druids must haste/animorph (and enchanters must stoneskin) themselves during the countdown at the beginning of the fight and can not remorph or haste (or stoneskin) a 2nd time after the countdown is over
Guardians can heal twice, Priests can heal once
No quest items or any other items that are better than the best brill oneaday are allowed
No stat modding/enchancing items or equipment of any sort
Be Quick or Be Dead! (BQoBD)
Created by: Pinchweasel
Hosted by: various different staff members
Time: No set time, no set host, currently not an active event.
Description:

For those players who lean more toward the intellectual side than brute force, there's Be Quick or be Dead, RoK's only
gameshow. It was created as a test of knowledge of the realms, and to encourage people to read the excellent manuscripts
in the academia.
The first five players to page Pinchweasel with the answer to a broadcasted question get to participate in the gameshow
itself. The gameshow has the basic framework of other gameshows: questions are asked, and the players who have least amount
of points at the end of each round are eliminated until there is only one player remaining, who must answer a hard bonus
question for a final prize.

However, a few rules make this gameshow unique. An eliminated player goes to a special room, where a monster is randomly
summoned, ranging from easy to kill, to almost impossible, and if the player wins, they get to leave with their points
converted into gold. The other difference is the prizes. If the player answers the final question correctly, he/she not only
gets a huge point bonus, but also gets to use his/her points to buy an item from the prize vault. The prizes include unique
items for several different classes.
Rules:
The host asks a question and the first of the 5 contestestants to "buzz in" gets a chance to answer it. If he/she cannot answer it in the alotted time then they lose points and a second player gets a chance to answer it
There are 10 questions in each round and the person with the least points after each round is sent to the "Room of Doom" where they must pull the chain which summons a monster. If they defeat the monster they can keep their winnings (however large or small they may be)
When it is narrowed down to only 1 contestant left he may choose to either "go for it" with 1 final (and very difficult) question worth 100,000 points. If he gets it wrong then he loses all of his earnings and is sent him with nothing but lost time. If he gets it right he can spend 100,000 points to buy one of the unique BQoBD prizes and keep the remaining points converted into an equal amount of gold. If he chooses not to attempt the final question, he just recieves his current amount of points in gold.
As always, if you try to make it harder for the hosts, they will most likely disqualify you.
Let's Mosh A Deal (LMAD)
Created by: Escape
Hosted by: various different staff members
Time: Wednesdays, around 8:30 pm
Description:

Although the midnight mosh is extremely popular among the powerful of the realms, Escape has created Let's Mosh a Deal
to give variety in both time and style. It is the realm's newest event, but has gained popularity rapidly.

The rules differ from those of the Midnight Mosh in that there are no teams and no alts. This is strictly enforced, and
makes for a very chaotic but fun free-for-all atmosphere, as well as less lag.

The winner is awarded with a choice between three "mystery objects." These could be either 100k, a one a day of choice,
or a brill one a day of choice. The order is defined before the mosh, and player is awarded whichever he chooses.
Rules:
No alts
No teams/parties
No modded characters
No quest items
All potions are allowed
People who page are warped into mosh arena and fight until a small amount are left. They are then warped into the mosh elimination room to fight it out for the final winner. Last one alive wins!
The Mole

The academia contains no information on this subject.
Rules:
No alts
Quest items and stat modifying potions are allowed

Levels 9-25
The staffer running the event randomly selects one person to be "The Mole." They occasionally broadcast hints as to who the mole is.
Whoever gets the killing blow on "The Mole" is the winner....or if The Mole survives for 1 full hour then The Mole is declared the winner.
Prize is a oneaday of your choice and The Mole also receives 1000 gold per minute he stayed alive up to 60,000 gold for the full hour.
Junior Tough Guy Competition (JrTGC)
Created by: Escape
Hosted by: various different staff members
Time: Sundays, around 8:00 pm
Description:

Escape's Journal: Although skilled warriors were satisfied, the recent success of the Tough Guy Contest left a void for
those who were not quite as renowned. However, they still wanted to prove that they were the best of the younger fighters.
These eager new bloods were yearning to showcase their skills and ferocity. They began to put forth extreme aggression
against others; attempting to prove that they, too, could be great warriors, and are almost as skilled. Often the warriors
would travel in packs, ambushing each other, attacking with intense hatred. Each claimed and strived to be the best.

One day after watching their egotistical hatred for each other, I decided to organize an event that would keep these
emotional outbursts in check. It would be much like the Tough Guy Contest, but it would only showcase the younger warriors,
allowing them to battle it out in order to prove who is the toughest of them all. The fighters jumped at the chance. The
rules were simple, and did not stray far from the guidelines of the original Tough Guy Contest. The differences were that
the paladins could now heal themselves once, and that rogue classes were restricted to hiding once per round. The general
restrictions remained the same, disallowing quest items and potions that would enhance the players in combat. The penalty
for breaking the rules of the contest were severe: outcast by fellow warriors, shunned by their society and most importantly,
banned from these games forever.

Escapes Notes: I shall begin this event by having the young warriors pass the test of speed, accepting only the 12 fastest
warriors to send me their message when I call for them. Then, the 12 selected fighters will each square off in a one on one
competition. I will have to be sure to account for each warrior’s divinity and class to make each match equally strenuous
for the competitors. The six remaining warriors will then be required to face 2 opponents at once. After each triangle
match, only 1 person from each group will be left standing. The survivor of each fight will then advance to the semi finals,
where they will battle for the right to face the reigning champion. The real award for victory in this contest is bragging
rights; the prizes are almost meaningless to the fighters, and simply serve as an added feature of winning the contest.
To the champion go 50,000 gold pieces, while he who comes in second place shall receive half of the first place prize.

The Trial: After months of waiting and preparation it was finally time for the unveiling of the event to be held.
The young warriors armed themselves and lined up as far as the eye could see, but only twelve of them were destined to make
the cut. After an hour and a half of straight fighting, one man was above all others, destroying and leaving bodies behind
him as he advanced, leaving Deth as the first Junior Tough Guy Contest Champion. The event was finally over, and the contest
was a success! The young warriors now had a means to prove their worth. These hopefuls will be waiting for the next week,
to get their chance at being a champion. Looking over to my assistant Judge Mills Lane, who was busy scrubbing blood from
the arena floor, I realized that we now had something to look forward to each week. The booze, the showboating, the tragedy,
the victor; This is the Junior Tough Guy Contest.
Rules: (similar to normal TGC)
12 contestants are chosen by the staff member running the event, usually chosen by the first 12 people to page
Begins with six 1 vs 1 matches, then the 6 winners of those are split into two 3-for-alls, then the 2 winners of that duel 1 vs 1, then the winner of that has the chance to take on the defending champion from last week for the title of "Toughest Guy(or girl) in the Realms"
If you win and defend your title for 5 weeks in a row you retire undefeated and recieve a special prize (brill oneaday of your choice)
Must be level 9-24 to participate
No potions of any kind are allowed
No sap, no faeriefire
Druids must haste/animorph (and Sorcerors must stoneskin) themselves during the countdown at the beginning of the fight and can not remorph or haste (or stoneskin) a 2nd time after the countdown is over
Paladins can heal twice, Clerics can heal once, Rogues may only hide once per round
No quest items or any other items that are better than the best brill oneaday are allowed
No stat modding/enchancing items or equipment of any sort
