SYBAR

A simple human fighter.

A 6' tall man stands before you.  He wears a charming smile upon his face.  His eyes are the color of emeralds and his hair is as light as sand.  His build is nothing to faint over, but he isn't a weakling either.

He wears the common clothes of an explorer, in the colors red and yellow.  He dons on a chain shirt, and wields a curved sword.  On his belt is a light crossbow and a box containing the bolts to it.  He has a simple pouch on the other side of his belt, and a backpack strapped to his back.

Noticing you looking at him, he smiles at you and says, "Hello friend.  Something I can help you with?"

Family Background

After you wish to hear his stories about his families history, he says, "Ah, so you wish to know about the Maijin family.  Well, back a few generations ago, the Maijin family consisted of great sorcerers.  Some were advisors to the kings, while some studied the mystic arts of their powers trying to take their gifts to a higher level.  Once every generation, a grand sorcerer was born from this family.  A natural magician that could over come anything that was placed in his way."  He smiles with great pride.

After a moment of pause, he continues, "Although when it came to my grandfather, he was unable to continue the chain.  He had only one son, which had no magical talent what so ever.  Feeling disappointed by not producing a grand sorcerer, he went into a deep sadness.  Keeping himself from the outside world, my grandfather left our family and went far away, never to be heard from again."  The smile slowly fades away.

Letting out a sigh he continues, "Needing a way to keep my grandmother from staving, Tesmere, my father, had to learn a craft to pay the way.  Losing all the reputation of having the grand sorcerers, it was hard for Tesmere to find someone to teach him a noble craft.  Although, one day a gnome by the name of Ack came into town looking to open a shop.  Tesmere learned of this and begged the gnome to allow him to be his apprentice.  The gnome agreed only if he would open his house up to the public as a cobbler's shop, and my grandmother agreed."  He takes a deep breath.

Continuing, he says, "Soon he had an honest living and were able put the past behind them, still wishing his father would return though.  Soon my father fell in love with a beautiful young woman by the name of Nesseal, my mother.  They soon married and had me.  And so begins my tale..."  He smiles, looking for a response from you.

Early Childhood Background

After you ask about his background, he smiles at you and says, "Hello friend.  So you wish to know about my childhood, eh?"  He begins his story.  "Well, I was born in Hillskeep, back in 481.  Hillskeep was your basic Village, containing around 700 people.  My father was the village cobbler with our family gnome friend, Ack.  My mother was the caretaker of the house with the help from my grandmother," he smiles as if remembering good old days.

He then continues, "My grandmother used to tell me stories of my ancestors.  I was highly interested in them, so much that I have based my adventuring days on them.  You see, I come from a long line of sorcerers.  It flows in our blood, although it may have stopped with my father.  You see, he has no magic abilities what so ever.  My grandfather was disappointed with this so much, that he left his family and has never been heard from again," looking down in a moment sadness.  He then lets out a sigh and says, "I am in high hopes that I will meet him once again, if only to let him know of me.  He left before my birth, you see."  Again, a look of sadness fills his face, but then erased by a smile.

"Anyway, you wanted to know about me.  As a child and with my grandmothers stories, I wanted to learn the arts of magic.  I went to the village sage, Wysk. He and I went through months of training, although it did not help.  I have always felt that there is a magic touch within me, but to this day I am still unable to release it.  After feeling failure, I decided to look into my fathers business.  I learned the craft of cobbling at the age of 8.  I did this up to the death of my grandmother."  Another frown passes across his face.  "After that I felt I had to leave.  I was 15 anyway, it was time for me to find my calling."  He sighs.

Youth Background

After you ask him more about his youth background he says, "Oh, you wish to know about my travels.

Well, after leaving my family I went to look for my grandfather.  When walking down a path I came across a true friend, Arn.  He was a local ranger and horse rancher.  Arn taught me how to ride a horse with skill.  Staying with him for a few months, I learned much.  Although I wasn't interested in wilderness lore and such, he did teach me the ways of a warrior."  He grasps his sword and smiles widely.  "And trust me, he taught me well."

He then continues, "After I left Arn's ranch I continued to try to find my father and perhaps release the magic within.  I traveled many years to the far east, in the large deserts.  That is why I wear the clothes I did when you first met me.  Having no luck in finding my grandfather along the way, I am now looking to try to open my magic powers through adventuring.  Maybe it will help me to find my grandfather someday."  He drifts off into a daydream state with a smile on his face.
