MARKUS ASHTON
Level 1 Human Monk
Born in a tiny farming community Markus was sheltered from
most external influences. Aside from
the local monastery that protected the tiny village from bandits, he met
very few people from outside his village.
His father was one of the richer men of the village, but still a
peasant by most modern standards.
His mother was a seamstress, homemaker, and in her youth a
herds-woman. He was very close to
bother his younger sister and older brother. His father was a strict man who believed that discipline and
dedication were the means to success - and he instilled this attitude in
all children.
From a very young age Markus admired the monks from afar. He was fascinated by the lighting speed,
honed reflexes, and perfectly attuned soul to body. At age 8 he approached
his father about joining the monks and defending the village in which he
was born. Though strict and lacking
in labor on the farm his father saw the desire in his young son's eye, and
could infer the dedication in his mind and consented to allow the boy to
move in the monastery and begin training.
Under the training of Master "Stonefist" Tougin,
Markus quickly advanced in his studies and dedicated himself to the
perfection of mind, body, and soul.
As the youngest in the monastery he often encountered resistance to
his presence, and excellence. Soon
even the eldest and most wizened monks fell to his training. After many
years of training under Master Tougin, the now 15 year old Markus had to
move elsewhere to complete his training.
And so he traveled - seeking to better himself. Seeking the ancient writing of the
masters of old, those who achieved perfection of mind body and soul.
A rather tall young man at 6'2", Markus looks like ropy
muscle wrapped around bone. His
dark brown hair and subdued hazel eyes betray a cat's readiness. Those who spend an extended amount of
time around him begin to notice the strange way he seems constantly wound
for a fight. Despite all this he is
a rather amiable individual - though he tolerates no disrespect.
