FEYLIO AIRLOVE

Level 1 Half-elf Ranger

Feylio is the offspring of human father and elven mother.  His parents came to know one anther as a result of the human's fascination with the Windriders of Finfeas, the elven village in which Feylio's mother, Astrid, resided in. Feylio knew little of him except that he rode in, fell in love with Astrid, stayed for a time, then left.  His mother seemed sad when she spoke of him.  Oh, and he knew his name: Fayllus.  As he matured, he began asking questions about Fayllus.  Come to find out, Astrid had been engaged when Fayllus came riding into town.  Drawn to his passion and zest for life, she soon forgot the vowels made to her fiancé. When it was learned by her family that she carried his child, they threatened Fayllus' life.  Fleeing was his only hope.  He never returned.  Ever since Feylio learned this truth, an urge to strike out in a search for his father has burned within him.  When he reached adulthood, he took the name Airlove, a translation of the elven village Finfeas, and Feylio in honor of his father who, though he'd never met, seemed to share a lot of his qualities: passion, zest for life, curiosity, ambition, honesty, cheerfulness. He also shared his father's interest in the Windriders.

The elven hamlet of Finfeas prides itself on its well guarded secret of Griffon training, and Feylio found himself dreaming to become one of the elite elven Windriders.  He worked as a "stable" hand during his adolescence, occasionally stealing the opportunity for a seat on a griffon's back and an aerial "gallop." Both served only to nurse his long held fantasy.  He'd relive such aerial gallops countlessly within his mind.  Even while he enjoyed other hobbies, archery, for instance, his mind never strayed far from the clouds.  However, the side inherited from his father, the human blood in him, cursed him with a short life span as compared to his elven brothers and sisters.  For an elf, the 30 years required of Windriders in training was nothing.  Not so for Feylio. Thus, his second reason for leaving.  Feylio figured if his beloved elven home couldn't make him a Windrider, he'd just have to do it himself.

As you might have guessed, Feylio left his homeland in favor of adventuring.  He makes his way now living off the land as taught to him by his elven tutors.  He strives to reap fortunes, find knowledge of others like him and discover where his father is.  A griffon of his own is certainly top on the list, as well.  Taming one is no easy venture, though, so Feylio has taken to practicing on smaller, less dangerous creatures for the time being.  His ultimate goal is ever in mind.  Though he will not cheat, steal, or murder to achieve it, he'll do all that he can within the bounds of his principles.  If he can find some cheap thrills and adventures along the way, all the better.
