FEKHLAR

Level 1 Half-orc Barbarian

Fekhlar has no memory of his mother. He learned quickly never to ask. The true story of his birth is that his father, obsessed with continuing his family line, took a human woman as his bedmate one night. Fekhlar was never told of it; no Grimtalon would ever stoop so low as to take a human into their line! Still, Fekhlar was confused as to exactly why he was kept from the rest of his orcish tribe for so long. He learned from his father the skills he would need to be a warrior within the tribe. His father always told him that it was due to the mark of Taranis he bore on his cheek, the mark he was born with. The shamans in the tribe predicted a bright future for the young warrior; he would become a faithful servant of the Beast, they said. It was these shamans who gave him the holy symbol of Taranis that he wears today.

In addition to the normal duties required of him, he also began to spend a good deal of time with these shamans, seeking to know more about the god who seemed to have marked him. He proved himself worthy (which earned him more scars elsewhere) and so began learning the true power of Taranis, and how a believer might tap into that power. They sent him from the tribe, telling him that he must prove his loyalty to Taranis and once he does, Taranis will grant him the power he has sought for so long.

Fekhlar calls the lands outside Trayess his home; that is where his tribe settled, long ago. He journeys the world now, seeking to prove himself to his patron deity.
