Rinoa

Rinoa first appears during the SeeD inauguration ball where she boldly steps up to the lonesome and ever silent Squall to ask for a dance. She hurriedly disappears without so much as a mention of her name, leaving him even more depressed if not also slightly bemused, but later crops up as the leader of the Forest Owls – the group Squall and co. are sent out to help for their first SeeD mission. Tension forms between the two at first, but soon dissolves in to something of a strong friendship – more along the lines of love, especially when Rinoa is lost out in space and Squall takes a valiant step, endangering his own life to rescue her.

Rinoa is definitely the more optimistic out of the main group, enlightening everyone with her spirit and charm, making it especially difficult to hate her. However, some fic writers tend to portray her as a ditz; tearing at her carefree and charming nature, although to most she is definitely one of the more loveable characters.
