Isles are a very secretive race, living far out in the oceans of Tryne on archipelagos and isolated islands. Some live on isles close to the main continents, or on their shores. A few even live deep in the warm rainforests of mainland Tryne, but always close to water. Isles often adorn themselves with tattoos and jewelry of feathers, shells, bones and teeth. They are fierce warriors, living in close-knit tribes numbering from two or three individuals to around fifty kats, never numbering as many as the bigger clans. Female Isles are just as likely to be warriors and leaders as males. Isles are a rather superstitious race, and tend to keep to their own kind, but are generally more accepting of Beaches and Marshes. Plains kats are hated with a vengeance, as the larger warriors tend to persecute the smaller race. Isles have little tolerance for the ever cheerful Valleys either, for much the same reasons as the Marsh Kats. Coppers are the most revered color, followed by Blacks and Iridescent. Golden Isles are considered freaks, and often banished from their tribes, as the combination of abilities of decay and healing are considered unstable.

What an Isle Kat Looks Like

Isles are the smallest race of Teknikat, averaging a little over half the height of the next smallest race, the Caves. Unlike most races of kat, Isles have rather short legs in comparison to their body length, though not nearly as short as the ferret-like Tundra's. Their proportions are closer to your everyday housecat, being a little longer than they are tall. As a result an Isle weighs about the same as a Cave of the same level. Isles toes are different than other kats, in that they are easily visible and slightly webbed. Their glare stripes are medium thickness, and extend to the nose in a straight line before curving around to the corner of the mouth. Their ears are a bit oversized, and their tails are flattened, to aid in swimming. Male Isles may have a few spots with their stripes and female's spots are often elongated and resemble stripes.
