OpenOffice.org is an excellent open-source alternative to Microsoft Office. Under Windows 98, you can insert any Unicode 2.0 character but you can only type languages that use the Latin, Greek or Cyrillic alphabets. Right-to-left languages are not supported.
StarOffice is the commercial version of OpenOffice.org with Sun's proprietary add-ons, including the Adabas D database and third-party fonts.
