A Citizenship that SavesLook at the world around you. The world is tumbling down quicker then you think. It's own evil can't be contained much longer. Pick up a newspaper. Turn on your TV to the local news. The only progress that makes news is bad news. "Another high school shootout, this time at..." "Violence break out again in Israel today..." "Both twin towers collapse under Terrorist attacks..." "The nation will be going to war.." How many of you can still think mankind is "progressing"? Who is the idiot that dare say being a citizen of this world is a good thing when well over half of the people worldwide are under oppression? Man is really "good" right? Think otherwise, especially after two world wars and the Nazi's holocaust. We're not "spiraling" upwards either. Don't forget that since the last World War, nearly 200 wars have been fought globally. Terrorism reign in this modern age. Tyrants still rule many countries. Man is still sinning. He still has greed, commits murder and performs deceitful acts. So you're still proud to be a citizen of this world, huh? Is your only hope set in a damned world? Do you want true hope, knowing that despite all the decay, all the immorality and collapsing of the world, there is another place after all this for you to live in along with it's creator who loves you so much? Where none of the deceitfulness of this world would ever corrupt this eternal place? Accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. It's not like the rest of the things in this world since. Your citizenship would be different. "But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body." (Philippians, 3:20-21) To think that being a citizen in heaven result in forgiveness of sin, true hope and a transformed body is such a thing to thank God for! Come to Jesus, Come to Him today. -Jimmy Li [Last edited September 19, 2001]
