The patrol is currently a small, single squad. If membership increases enough, we will begin splitting into seperate squads.

You head back to the tent you were originally brought
to. Lifting the
flap,
you look in to see the young red squirrel you had
first seen behind the
desk.
She straightens a tunic which is a splatter of
diffrent shades of
green,
with some brown in it. Smiling up at you with her
innocent face, she
nods to
one of the many chairs in the room.
"You're the
newbie, right?"
She asks in a sweet voice. You
nod
tersely.
"Well, I'm Astriana, Astri to my friends,
and second-in-command to
this
crazy group of Mercinaries, and you've found your way
to the members
tent.
Here I keep track of who's who and what rank they
are."
You look in
curiosity at the stacks of paper on Astriana's
desk.
"All that paper just for a list of names?"
You ask, starting to open
up
to the squirrel. She seems to be the first beast here
that has a
consience,
and morals. The first sane one you've met. You're
having trouble
figuring
out what such an innocent beast could do that would
give her partial command
over
a hoard of Mercinaries.
"Oh no, it's not only names, I also keep track
of how each beast got
here, why they're here, what weapons they use and how
they fight. Also
if
they are likely to betray us to the enemy."
"What
do you do with beasts who betray you?"
You can't
help but
wonder.
"Why, kill them, of course."
Astri says
this so calmly that you
gulp.
"Are you betrayed often?"
Astri shakes her
head.
"People who hire others to betray their army
usually don't pay well,
and
as any one knows..."
The squirrel winks at you,
"...the one true way to tell
a
Merc is dead is if they stop collecting their pay
check."
You gulp again, taking the list of member names
she hands you, and
leave
the tent to read. Maybe this squirrel isn't as
innocent as you
thought.
