In the darkness when the music rises and rings,
I hold my breath, feeling you in the surroundings.
You are here, near me, singing softly and I rejoice,
For once again in my life, I hear your voice.
I hear your voice calling me gently, enticingly,
I hear your voice saying my name so fervently...
You mesmerise me and my will disappears slowly;
Under your voice, I keep my sanity quite narrowly
But only the joy filling my heart matters to me,
This moment where the Angel of Music has to be.
I hear your voice wrapping around me in a wave,
I hear your voice and willingly, I become your slave.
You bend me to your will with a mere song,
You fill me with a love meant for a lifelong.
With you, my soul goes for a journey to the sky
But to be broken, the dream needs only a cry...
I hear your voice soaring so high above,
I hear your voice begging for my love...
Afraid by my feelings, I betrayed you without mercy
And you dared to forgive me my dreadful perfidy!
You let me go, saying you had to take the blame
When I was the one who should have felt the shame.
But now I hear your voice calming my fears,
I hear your voice, so soft, so filled with tears...
Your voice draws me to you despite the distance,
But I lack courage and I am stopped by any hindrance.
I miss you, my Angel of Music, so patient, so in love!
I remember how you taught my voice to fly like a dove...
I hear your voice, haunting my daydream and my night,
I hear your voice and I remember the candlelight...
Far away from you, I still hear your voice
And now I understand I made the wrong choice:
I was meant to be with you, to sing your music
And the reasons I had to leave you were pure rhetoric!
I hear your voice, sounding so weary, but so sublime,
I hear your voice and the angels weep each time.
