In Torvaldsland and most northern cities mead and ale is traditionally served in a horn.
Though situated in Torvaldsland the serves at the Palace if not commanded otherwise are silk serves, often called southern serves. The rule is so to please the guests, who often will come from other places of Gor. But a kajira must know the northern serve as described here.
A kajira is in Torvaldsland often called a bondsmaid. The serving of mead and ale is different too in the north, called northern serve or bondsmaid serve. The serve is not so ritualised as silk slave serves. The composition is more free, the atmosphere more joyfull.
In a northern serve the slave is “all over the Master”, in one moment at His side, the next behind Him, then lapping Him for a short time, then kneeling over Him with her knees on each side of his body.
The entire time she is ready to offer the horn (or other vessel) to His lips. she kisses His neck, nose, cheeks, chest. she licks remains from His lips. she follows His every move and finds every second new ways to please and entice Him.
Even if He does not react to her kissing, massaging, nibbling and other caresses, she continues as a happy dog eager to please, trying in every possible, not disturbing way to please Him.
The slave does not offer the horn (or other vessel) with words as in silken serves. she simply approaches and is there for Him, always finding the best second to hold the horn to His lips.
When the horn (or other vessel) is emptied, she whispers to Him asking if He wants a refill, and if the refill is demanded she quickly moves to the serving area, even quicker she is back.
The submission in the northern serve it not so much ritualised as in the silken serves, but is shown in the slave’s eagerness, her squirming, hovering around Him, guessing His every wish, every second trying new ways to worship Him.
