M1943 Spanish Mauser

M1943 Spanish Mauser Short Rifle

8x57mm

This is a fairly recent aquisition, obtained as part of a package deal (see the M94 sporter elsewhere on this webpage.) When I got this there was no scope or mounts. I added a set of Weaver bases, Millet rings and a used Burris scope. I have yet to shoot this one. It also has a set of adjustable Williams sites. The bore is in good shape, but there appears to be significant throat erosion. Pending a headspace check, this may be a prime candidate to rechamber to the wildcat 8mm-06 to clean up the eroded portion of the throat.
