UNICEF Charity Concerts

align=center> On the 24th June 2001, AYSE gave a concert at Queen's Cross Church, Aberdeen in aid of the United Nations Childrens Fund - UNICEF. The concert hailed a success and we had a good audience raising £425 for the charity, which is a great achievement. To promote the concert, the orchestra played in the Bon Accord Shopping Centre in Aberdeen, this performance was thoroughly enjoyed by the shoppers on that day.
Due to the sucess of the previous concert, AYSE decided to repeat the event on the 21st April 2002 in the same venue, again all the proceeds went to UNICEF. We also held a publicity concert similar to the one in the Bon Accord Centre, on April 20th in the Academy Shopping Centre. Despite the limited space, this was just as sucessful as the concert in the Bon Accord Centre and we raised a similar amount for UNICEF as in the previous concert.
None of this could have been done of course, without the hard work from Mr Bolton for hiring the venue, organising the concerts and rehearsing the orchestra, or all the parents who handed out fliers at the promotional concerts. A big thankyou to everyone involved!
