Claire Telford: The Orchestra's first leader and soloist, took up a post at the Yehudi Menuhin School assisting her Royal College of Music Professor last year. This meant alot to Claire and we wish her the best of luck in her future studies.

Laura Baxter: Past joint Leader and soloist,is studying for a Post Graduate Diploma at the Royal Academy of Music in London. She graduated from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in 2003 principally as a piano accompanist, but originally began her musical education with the violin

Martin Shultz: Past joint leader and soloist, is attending Rice University in Houston. He is studying violin.

Chrissy Masuda: Founder member of the viola section in AYSE, is currently studying vocal performance at the same university as Martin.

Gemma Copeland: Principal double bassist, was accepted by the very prestigious Chethams School of Music in Manchester and left us in 2001 to take up her place there.

Ee Reh Cha: Lead the orchestra for the trip to France and co-lead in 2002. She also successfully auditioned for Chethams.

Fraser Kelman: 1st oboist (principal oboist at the 2002 NYOS winter course for a very challenging programme) left us after the summer of 2002 for Edinburgh, and St Mary's Music school where he will study oboe and continue to work on his composing.

Mhairi Simpson: Former principal cellist, is currently studying Double Bass and Cello at Royal Northern College of Music and is a member of NYOS and Camerata Scotland.
