"a) A mature string sound. Very good dynamic control. Excellent balance. Slight (occasional) lapses in intonation."

"b) A brisk energetic tempo which was well maintained. Legato episodes contrasted effectively with the more incisive rapid playing. Dynamic control was consistently pleasing. Stylistically convincing. A tightly knit ensemble - fully coordinated in the use of phrasing, articulation and balance."
