France 2002

In June 2002 Aberdeen Music Centre embarked on a trip to Clermont Ferrand, Aberdeen's twin town in France. The trip coincided with "La Fête de la Musique", a national music festival in France. AYSE was one of the groups involved, other groups were the Aberdeen City Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Aberdeen Music Centre Wind Ensemble, and the music centre Fiddle Group. The trip was a huge sucess with the groups performing in various concerts at venues which included a local 'école primaire' (primary school), the Chabrier Conservatoire de la Musique and the town hall. The orchestras' visit was also covered by local press and media.
