KETUPAT

As Malaysians traditional treats, the Ketupat is eaten during festive holidays. It consists of glutinous rice, sometimes with coconut filling which is wrapped in palm leaf called ‘daun palas’ then steamed for about half and hour. Delicious to be eaten with rendang (a traditional way of cooking meat in a big pan with coconut milk and spices like chilies, curry, coriander, ginger and turmeric.). Ketupat is cooked especially during Eid el Fitri and Eid el Adha.
