Last week Ty had surgery to repair his hernias. His surgery was a success and he has been slowly recovering. Healthwise, he's about back to where he was before his surgery. He is better because he's not in the constant pain from his hernias. For the week after his surgery he slowly improved his breathing.
They were trying to keep his oxygen saturation high because of his eyes. Since his eyes are so immature, they require more oxygen to mature. After his surgery they were not able to keep his saturation high so his eyes took a little backward slide. So this week they have raised his saturation requirement which is causing him to require more oxygen support. Which in turn makes it difficult for them to lower his CPAP pressure, which delays him from being put on the cannula, which delays him from coming home...
As bad as we want him to come home, we'll stay here for as long as it takes for him to get better. We're going on 5 months here and hopefully we'll be out of here before the end of the year.
We Thank God for everything! We are truly blessed! These babies have been a blessing to us and to so many and I can only give God all the credit! We've been able to keep it together and God had provided wonderful family, friends, and support like we could have never imagined!
This is incredibily difficult, but we are hanging on! Please keep Ty in your prayers and we'll get him out of here soon!
