Ty Carl Buffington May 10th Update

Ty's had a good and busy week! He's got a big boy crib now and he started his trials on the home ventilator!

He's had a pretty good week. He is still on the antibiotics and is going to stop those soon. In some of the pictures you'll see where the IV is placed on the side of his head. They had to cut some of his hair to place it because his little veins have been abused with all the IVs. He is getting stronger and healthier. Please pray that he continues to get stronger.

He was able to start his trials on the ventilator that we'll go home on. It's about the size of a small TV and works differently than the one he is on now. So he has to work up to being on it full time. The new one is designed for adults so it's harder for him to breathe on, so over the next month or so we'll work towards being on it full time.

His first trials were very successful and we are so proud of how hard he is working! Hopefully we're on the road to going home. We still have a couple of months or more to go, but we're getting there! Progress is slow but steady!

Ty has already been making his film and modeling debut! They made a Children's Miracle Network advertisement and Ty made and appearance. It's not come out, but it showed Ty and his doctor talking about what the hospital does and how they help NICU babies. Also Ty's picture was taken with 2 of his favorite nurses and showcased in with an award given to the University nurses.

This could be a start of a promising modeling career!!!

Ty's been acting more like himself lately! So hopefully we're done being sick. With the good weather, hopefully he won't get any more viruses! Please keep praying for him to get stronger and to stay healthy!
