Jay Bell

A patient batter who likes to go deep in the count, Bell is primarily a fastball hitter. He prefers pitches away from him rather than in. But he'll chase pitches out of the strike zone with two strikes, particularly breaking balls. In addition, his power has dropped off significantly from his career-high home-run output of 38 in 1999. Bell is a good bunter, just as he was early in his career. He turns the double play with the sest of them. He also played well at third base last year for arizona, with good reactions and enough arm strength. He also now has a world series ring!
